Phillies beat Braves 3-1 to advance to National League Championship Series vs Arizona Diamondbacks.

I think the Orioles were jinxed by Joan Jett’s bad rendition of the National Anthem before Game 1 of their series.

The three teams that won 100+ games in the regular season went 1-9 in the playoffs.

I‘m laughing at the Orioles, Dodgers, and Braves fans making the lame excuse that the week off killed their momentum. Bull hockey. If you can’t win under such conditions you’re a pretender, not a contender. The layoff didn’t bother the Astros.

It's been a very interesting post-season, so far. The 'bye' teams failing miserably. Those losing teams also had their division and playoff spots wrapped up so early. The Astros have survived, and I have 2 thoughts there. First, they've got so much experience. But second, they were battling and uber-competitive right up to the last day of the regular season - managing to pull out a miracle division win on the last day. They never had the true "rest period" for many days between clinching and the playoffs. I think that really ended up helping them and hurting the others.

But still..... Dodgers and Braves really came up short. Braves hit 3 hrs in entire playoff series? After a billion in the regular season? I guess if you lived by the hr, they could die by the hr - and they did.

The one thing Atlanta professional sports teams are great at is disappointing their fans.

The top 5 in terms of regular season record went a combined 1-12 in the postseason. Sports are funny sometimes.

As an Orioles fan they were already playing with house $$ with how much they overachieved this year. Just a bad time for both their hitting and starting pitching to be basically non-existent.

I was cheering for the Phillies because castellanos is a former red. Also because the braves fans threw trash on the field after they lost an appeal. I know, Phillies are poor sports too, but I went with the underdog.

I find it ironic that the Phillies booed castellanos mercilessly his first season with them when he wasn’t hitting well. Now he hit 2 HRs in one game for them in the post season. I guess they won’t complain about that.

All 4 teams left had 90 wins or less in the regular season. When the Braves won the World Series in 2021, they had 88 wins. Last year and this year, they had 100+ wins, and lost in the NLDS. Might as well strive for mediocrity in the regular season next year, get hot toward the end of the season, and carry that momentum into the postseason!
