I know it seems like I am in the minority but I find absolutely nothing wrong w/ the taste of the water. I live in an area that has "Superior" water and I cannot tell ANY difference. It kills me when read about people not being able to brush their teeth w/ the water. I have to admit having to beg your child to take a bath in the water tops them all.
I personally find the Brita water filter bottles to be more of a hassle than they are worth.
Now back to the other 98% of the people who think the water it terrible.

What we did was by a case of water locally and then bring in a couple of bottles with us and refill them thoughout the day at the water fountains. The taste is not that bad. We do this whenever we travel and I think there was only one time when the water was undrinkable (don'trecall where though)

We can't stand the taste either. We go to the Winn-Dixie near Crossroads, get a 12 pack of Dansani for $3.99. They charge $2.50 for 1 bottle at the parks (although it is bigger than those we buy, still a bargain). We stay in a DVC 1 bedroom, we freeze them the night before so it stays cold all day. We take half out and freeze and then fill up the rest of the way in the morning with another bottle. Then use that half full bottle to freeze the next night.

Doesn't bother me but then I am a Floridian and probably used to it. I just refill from the fountains.

A note about filter water bottles- I haven't seen the Brita but Jenny Craig Centers carry a water bottle that filters. Don't know the cost. FYI

It seems that some people are offended that others can't/won't drink the WDW water..... I live in Maine, if you came here- you might not like OUR water. We have city water, I have an Uncle who lives in a rural area and has an artesian well, he won't drink the water at my house, says "Might as well take a drink out of the Clorox bottle." To us, the water tasted bad and yes, it smelled bad. I'm not sure exactly what "superior" water is... I think it's in the taste buds of the beholder.

FYI - you can still get the Brita sports bottles at Walmart for about $8 each last time I checked.

You can find them in one of three places in most Walmarts, where they sell the filters, where they sell the pitchers or faucet attachments, or where they sell sports bottles and camping equipment.

I can also buy them at my local Krogers where they sell the filter replacements.

During several trips to WDW, we've experienced ZERO "water problems" in our family. Is there a slight "mineral" taste to the water? Yes. But unless you're "bottled water dependent", it's not likely to bother you. Fear not the water at WDW.

I bring 2 Brita sports bottles to carry around and refill if I have time to fill it from the ice machines in the AM before we go to the theme parks. If not, I grab two bottles of water bought from Publix on the way to WDW. I just don't prefer the taste of FL water, and have IBS. Drinking the water in FL irritates my IBS. Not terribly so, but it is unavoidable if you drink iced tea, or drinks with ice, etc at the restaraunts in FL.

I am in the minority with you, and I missed the one where you had to beg your children to take a bath in it. Put bubbles in it.

I am a Floridian and WDW water is very different than ours here. But it is not "bad", unsafe, water. We find "different" waters in many of our US travels, some more to our liking than others-but all are potable water(when we lived in Europe, that was not always true). It used to be that everyone that got sick at WDW seemed to blame the poor water and sometimes the food. Now they are rightly blaming the many viruses going around. If you search these boards long enough you will see that people will blame all KINDS of things on the water! If something goes wrong, it was the waters fault!

If you like drinking bottled or filtered water, you will not like the water out of the drinking fountains. When my family and I went back to the World in Nov, we bought a Brita Fill & Go Water Filtration Bottle from Wal - Mart. I think it cost us about $6.00 or so. It has a filter built in and is VERY effective at filtering out the chlorine and sulfer. Also we would ask the restraunts for cup of ice water, while holding the bottle, and 9 times out of 10 they would just take the bottle and fll it up for us.

Please correct me if I am wrong. Here is what Brita says about their Fill and Go Water Bottle:
"The BRITA Fill & Go Water Filtration Bottle Filter reduces chlorine* that may be present in your tap water.
The contaminants or other substances reduced by this water treatment device are not necessarily in all users’ water.
*for municipally treated tap water. "

So, just to be clear, the Filter reduces chlorine. Reduces chlorine, not sulphur. WDW water is municipal water, which MUST have chlorine in it. ALL municipal systems MUST have chlorine added. Your hometown system wherever you live has chlorine added to the water for the safety of users.

I doubt very seriously that WDW would add more chlorine to the water than what is required to keep it safe for potability. Your hometown water deliverer adds no more than what is required to keep the potable water safe.

For those who only will use bottled water at WDW, more power to you. Enjoy it. But for those who say that the WDW is "horrid", I disagree. But, I respect your opinion.

We too have no problems with WDW water. We refill our water bottles at the fountains in the parks all the time.

Now, when I take my girl scout troop to the local camp, I always bring gallons of water because that does have a sulfury odor and taste, although they insist it is OK to drink. So I guess I can understand that some people don't like WDW water.

IMO, the dominant taste (and smell) of the tap water at WDW is that of just plain mud. I know it is perfectly clean and potable, but I just don't care for the taste and smell. I've lived places where the water was like this, and I didn't like it then, either.

I find that a Brita or Culligan bottle eliminates whatever it is that I don't like, so that's the best option for me. It also means I'm not carrying a supply of heavy water bottles around when I'm not actually drinking; I bring it in empty and I leave with it empty.

I live in New York City and our water tastes just like bottled spring water. The water in Florida does not taste like bottled water. Yes, it is safe, but it is definitely an acquired taste. Even my relatives who live close to disney bought a water cooler for their house and they do not drink the tap water.

We do 1 of 2 things:
Order a case from netgrocer.com and have it delivered to our room. (WL does not accept deliveries anymore I hear)
or
Use our brita filter sports bottles we picked up at our local grocery store and refill at the fountains.
I do not have an aversion to the taste of the water in the fountains but I afraid my girls will get tummy aches from the change.
