We've done our taxes online through H&R Block for the past 5 or so years, but this is the first time we've done the Refund Bonus program. We only opted for a small portion of it to go toward a Home Depot gift card since that's what we're putting part of it toward anyway (we have a home project that needs completed). But according to the page on their website about the program, "As soon as your tax refund is available, we will email you a link to select your individual e-gift cards from participating retailers." (Bolded by H&R Block) Their terms and conditions say the same (When your federal income tax refund has been sent by the IRS, H&R Block will email you a link for you to use to select your individual e–gift cards from Retailers.) We have received our federal refund (we pay state) but have not received any information from H&R Block about the gift card program. So I went online to the H&R Block community and found a response from someone with the same question as me saying "after spending almost an hour on customer service calls to H&R block, I was told they will not email the link to the gift card until the full 21 days has passed, even if the refund was sent early."
For anyone who has done this program in the past, is this how it has worked for you, too? Seems kind of inconsistent that H&R Block would state that on their website and then do something else. Not a huge wait, but that it was unexpected kind of throws off our plans a bit.
