Why can't I get simple stains out of the clothes? dirt wont even come off?? I use tide, I hang them to dry.. but even simple stuff that kids get on them wont come off! I can get stains out of old navy, gap, oshkosh, carters but not the gymboree stuff which is probably the most expensive out of all of it?? Am I the only one? :confused3

Do you ever use Shout or Spray-n-wash on the stains? I have to use it on all stains regardless of the store I bought the clothes at before using the regular detergent. I have not had a stain since using either(I get whatever is on sale for both the stain remover and detergent).

I have shopped from them for over 9 years and never have any problems with stains. I use stain remover on the stain and then let it sit for a while and then wash the clothes. If you wash the clothes first and then try to remove the stains, then it gets harder to remove.

I keep a bottle of Spray 'n Wash on the top shelf in my kids' bathroom. That way, when they get undressed to get in the tub, I take a look at their clothes and treat any stains before throwing them in the hamper. If I leave it for later, I usually forget, especially when the clothes are inside-out, balled up, etc.

I've also had good luck removing some tough stains by soaking in water with Oxyclean powder. :laundy:

I would suggest you try Zout. My DD's clothes have no stains on them because of it. Also, I have used Greased Lightening. I doesn't say for clothes but it works on everything.

Recently I started using the oxy clean spray and taht seems to work really well. Not sure why but stains on my boys Gymboree clothes seem more difficult to get out than other clothes from Children's place, Carters, osh Kosh., Old navy etc.

Exactly it's ALL of my sons shirts!?!?!?! I'm VERY annoyed at this! I know I dont have any other son's to pass them on to (yet ;) ) but I can't even hand them down to cousins!!! I've tried shout, oxy blah blah blah.. I mean they are normal kid stuff "stains".. This was the first year I really went all out and bought alot from them but I can't afford to keep throwing stuff away and buying new with 3 kids at gymboree prices.. Cute clothes.. but not worth it if he wears em once and gets something on it and I have to throw it away! :headache:

I always had great luck with Gymboree clothes. Do you ever just put some of your regular liquid laundry soap right on the stain? Sometimes you may need to do this more than one time, but if spray n wash doesn't work that is what I do next.

VERY interesting that you would post this. I have the exact same problem. I LOVE Gymboree clothes but they seem to hold on to stains like crazy!!!! Just bought a bunch of stuff for my dd. The first day she wore one of the shirts it was stained and would not come out. Same thing last fall when I bought other Gymboree clothes for her. Very annoying. I don't have this problem with other clothes.

I haven't noticed a problem with Gymboree myself but for other stains I take the clothes and soak in HOT water over night with a big scoop or 2 of oxyclean powder. It seems to get most stains out, even set in ones that have been washed a bunch. Also brightens whites.

I haven't noticed that Gymboree clothes hold a stain more but I sometimes do not get around to doing the laundry right away or some wily article of clothing will get past me w/ a stain still on it. Here is what I do - I pre-treat w/ Shout or Spray-n-Wash, then I start my washing machine on the soak cycle. I add my liquid detergent as well as DOUBLE the amount of Oxy Clean to Hot water (if light colored clothes, dark or bright colors I use cold water). I soak them for 24 hours. Stains have always come out - even catsup, chocolate, tomato sauce, etc).

Is your water hard or softened? I find that when we run out of salt in our water softener the clothing does not get as clean and I have a bigger issue with stains being difficult to get out. Once we are filled back up with salt everything is better.

Gymbo stains like the dickens for me, especially the darker items. I get the best results by using liquid Tide as a pretreatment and soaking overnight.

Okay this is alot of work and with 3 kids and ALOT of laundry I can't catch all stains and to soak em for 24 hrs and tie up my washer :scared1: uh I'd never catch up!! someone asked if my water was hard or soft.. its hard.. we dont have a water softner.. I dont know anyone around me that does :confused3

I cast a vote for the oxyclean method also. Except I get one of those rubbermaid bins and let 1-2 items soak for at least 6 hrs. - depending on the stain. Then I throw the items in with a load of laundry. Works every time!:thumbsup2 (by the way - I'm a HUGE Gymboree shopper!)

I'm sure soaking them overnight would work just as well without tying up your washer. You don't do laundry all night, do you? ;)

We use spray-n-wash stain stick--it works wonders and takes very little extra effort. All you have to do is rub the stain with this stuff and leave it, sometimes up to a week. The stains almost always come out, even if they've been through the dryer (I sound like an advertisement!!! ;) ).

Good luck! I love the look of Gymboree clothes, too!

I think your problem is your water. I don't know of anyone with hard water who doesn't have a softener?? You may want to invest in one.
But I found that oxy clean spray is the ultimate. And the baby version is even better, but I can only find it at babies r us. I spray my stains and then I also use the powder (baby version) in with the load too. Most gymboree clothes say to wash in cold, but I wash in warm. Most stain sprays and powders need warm water to activate. Also if I know it looks like a bad stain then I pretreat it when they take it off too.
I don't find my gymboree clothes to stain anymore than others though. But I have a girl. maybe the boys clothing does???

How about trying Lestoil? It's hard to find and you may have to get it off the internet, but that gets out a lot of stains. It stinks, b ut I wish I had thought about it before I threw a bunch of clothes out. I have also had luck with Oxy Clean, Oxy Clean liquid, Oxy Clean purse size spray, and Spray and wash. Shout or the stain sticks never worked for me.

Also a friend once told me that shaving cream is wonderful too. but I never used ti myself.
