All, for the first time, we’re actually interested in possibly utilizting the gym on board (happens to be the Magic this round). I’ve looked at navigators and can’t say I see many scheduled classes around fitness which sort of surprises me. Also, I’ve never been to the spa area and I believe the gym and spa are located next to each other? Can anyone advise what they experienced at the gym and if there is anything in the spa to utilize that you don’t have to pay for? I’ve heard of the rain something pass (perhaps I totally made this up) but unfamiliar. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

the gym is inside the spa. They advertise classes like spin class once on board (or they have a sign up sheet in the gym on the counter). some things like sunrise yoga might be on the navigator, but that takes place on the pool deck and is really more of a beginner stretching type of yoga. There are machines, treadmills, climbers, bikes, free weights, yoga balls, etc in the gym. It is typically busy first thing in the morning early in the cruise, but tends to be less busy as the cruise goes on. Rainforest room has some spa loungers and stuff - you can buy a day pass I believe on board, or the week long pass in advance. You can use the sauna, spa showers and locker facilities for free, but pretty much all the other stuff is pay to play. You can check out some cruise trip reports for others experiences, and I'm sure there have been plenty of threads on the Rainforest room.

The gym on all of the ships is located inside the spa. You can go and workout on your own or pay for a trainer. I have found that the gym is on the smaller side, and that it can feel a bit crowded at times. We are morning people and tend to work out early, which is a notorious gym rush hour. If you are a later riser or tend to get your swole on later in the day, you may not find this to be a problem. There is a rainforest pass that you can buy which allows you to use the Rainforest Room. Its several different showers and saunas. While the Rainforest Room is 18 and over, minors can be accompanied in the gym area. Towels and water are provided in both areas.

There are several separate areas in a Spa section of the ship, which include:

Gym -- free to use. Children ages 14-17 may use the gym, but only if accompanied by an adult.

Changing room -- free for adults to use. Includes showers and lockers. I think there is also a "standard" sauna.

Rainforest room -- adults only; requires daily or cruise-long pass. Includes several kinds of showers, saunas, and heated chairs. Rainforest areas on the Dream and Fantasy also have hot tubs.

Treatment areas -- require reservations. Most treatments are for adults, but there are a few open to 13-17 year olds with a parent present. There are individual treatment areas for massages/facials/body treatments and a larger area for salon services (hair, manicures, pedicures).

The spa typically has an open-house on the afternoon of embarkation day, during which staff are happy to show guests around in the various areas.

I plan on getting my swole on by eating.... lots! :D

All the above Info is pretty correct, especially @Mommb ‘s info, so just adding a few details.

- in the workout area it is predominantly treadmills. There are some ellipticals, and stationary bikes. There is an open area which is pretty small for stretching/yoga etc. and they do have foam rollers and yoga mats. There are some free weights and the standard weight machines.
- there is water and towels available inside the workout area for use. They also usually have some bananas and apples available.
- in the changing and showers (free to use) there are lockers that you enter a code to lock and unlock.
- there are a couple of showers with Elemis bath products. They have extra towels, razors and other self care items in the changing area.
- in the men’s there was one sauna and two loungers. That area also had some magazines and infused water.
