Well, on a fluke I checked the Southwest website and found 2 seats on a flight to Albany, NY at 8:25AM tomorrow.

Don't you know I tripped all over myself to get them suckers booked!

We are flying out (fingers crossed) tomorrow morning.

Now, if you could only take a carry aboard rollerbag what, of ALL your belongings, would you take?

And no booze.

You'd think they'd lift that liquids thing for me just this once.

On my trip back home form the Southern Miss. Game on I-59 all I could see were headlights, also at 4 am Mississippi will active the Contraflow Plan on I-55 and I-59 alll lanes will go north to help with all the people leaving LA.

i just got word that my best friend's brother has made it to birmingham alabama...
he just had hip replacement surgery 2 weeks ago, so we were really worried how he would stand up to the road trip out of new orleans....but he's made it..
he didn't leave new orleans in advance of katrina and barely survived (and we couldn't locate him for several days of sheer terror)...
anyway...he and his wife are out ....so we're relieved for the moment..

i've been watching the evacuation on tv....how frightening for everyone there...

my thoughts and prayers are with all of you........
