We've only been DVC members for 6 wks and couldn't be happier with our decision to buy (after 3 years of procrastination). This Disboard played a major part in our decision to finally buy - thx to some phenomenal content posted by like minded people.

We only finalized our DVC Contract on 10Jan, but still managed to book 6 days at BWV, 5 days at SSR and 3 days at AKKV Sav View in May. We wait listed for 3 days at BWV, and it came thru today

At the 7 month window we also booked a trip in Sept11 and were ecstatic to secure 5 days BWV BW View, 2 days BLT MK View, 4 days SSR and 3 days AK Jambo Sav View. Can't wait for BLT.

I know hopping between resorts isn't everyones cup of tea, but we're excited by the chance to experience different accommodations.

Thx to guidance on the Disboard we segmented our vacations and purchased
DDP every other day so we can enjoy a sit down meal one day followed by
a Quick service meal on day two (and so on) I've read a few posts that suggest teething problems with segmentation, but we are hopeful that this will have been ironed out when we arrive in May.

DVC is proving to be everything we hoped to be, so we are already talking about adding on. Need to start saving our pennies.

We've been members since 2008 and we avoided staying at Old Key West for a while - and we now regret that! HAHA

As a new member, you have to go pay homage to the ORIGINAL! You will LOVE Old Key West! It's fantastic!

You should at least go have lunch at Olivia's on your next trip!

WE LOVE DVC as well! It's amazing!

We dream ALL the time about where we will go next! It's worth every dime just for the dreams about where we will go next!

Ditto to the sentiments of the OP. DISboards information is what led us to our DVC purchase and helped take a lot of the angst out of the process. In addition, reading various trip reports and other threads have exposed us to so many different things at WDW we never knew existed. DW and I have a "to-do" list of events, restaurants, rides, etc. that we will visit during our future trips all because others shared their experiences here. It might seem to some that trip reports are a bit egotistical, self-serving or have a "look-what-I-did" attitude but we really enjoy the reviews and learn something new with most every one. We try to pay it forward when doing a trip report as well. The latest information learned from the DISboards is the change forthcoming for DVC resale purchases effective 3/21/11. We have received nothing in the mail from Disney regarding this change and unless you visit the DVC website, one would have never known of the change. However, we log on to the DISboards frequently and found out about this upcoming change. Now if I can just close an add-on purchase before the deadline.... Thanks fellow DISboarders!

we have been member since 2006 and have been 5 times now our home is ssr which is great, cant wait to try out the new tree houses.

i you tubed them and found someone had done a tour of one of them looks cool.

we have been to old key west which though a bit dated was actualy realy nice to.
vero beach a bit out the way but the place to go just to finish off any holiday i thing, very relaxing

To the OP. WOW! You must have bought a LOT of points!

To the person with the question about the 3/21/11 change, any resale contracts that close after 3/20/11, they can not be traded out for hotels, cruises or ABD vacations, only use at DVC properties and RCI.

We closed last week on a VWL contract, and today on a BCV contract. I can't wait for the points to appear in my account so I can move from my home SSR to these two locations for my Oct/Nov vacation. I'm working my way around all the WDW resorts. Four to go and I'll have those down by the end of 2011!
