Hi All! Staying at Swan and arriving late in the day, so won't be attending any theme parks 1st day. Want to dine with characters so I booked Gullivers (at Swan). Looked at the menu online and had hesitations.

Tried for Chef Mickey's and they were booked.

So I made a 2nd one for 1900 Park Faire which is a buffet.
Have two children aged 4 and 3 so think they might like the buffet better. Plus, I've not seen many reviews on Gullivers but I'm new to this board.

Any feedback????? Thanks for any replies. I'll cancel which ever one I don't need.

We have never eaten at Gulliver's but have done the 1900 Park Faire several times. The buffet is better than Chef Mickey's and offers a few more items. My kids love to eat there. The atmosphere is great. If my memory serves me right, there should be no charge for the three year old. Great food and quick, and those of us with young children know that quick is important. Have a great trip... We'll be there for halloween...

We went to Gullivers for breakfast once and never again. The food was ok but the service was awful and it took over an hour and a half to see 2 characters and the place was not even half full. The staff was very rude.

We've been to 1900 for several breakfasts and dinners and have always enjoyed it. The character interaction is great and the staff has always been friendly.

:D We ate at 1900 Park Fare for our first night dinner and really enjoyed it. The food was great and our little one just loved the Pooh characters. Overall, it was a very nice experience and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. After dinner, we strolled around the grounds of the Grand Floridian and that place is gorgeous! I have never eaten at Gulliver's and I don't think I have seen any reviews of it either. Did you try to do a search? Hope your trip is great :D !

Hi, we ate at Gullivers last year and really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. They had made to order omelets and all kinds of other stuff. Their pastries were excellent. The characters that day were Goofy and Pluto and they spent a lot of time with a family with a disabled child, but did manage to make it around to all of the tables in about 30 minutes.

The room it is located in is beautiful, with lots of windows and light.

Have fun!

I've pretty much done 1900 every trip and last week when we ate there for both breakfast and dinner the food was great as always!Character intervention was fantastic!

We had a great dinner at Gullivers on our last visit. Aside from their regular menu they offer a buffet each night. They had different themes on different nights... Italian, American, Seafood... I ordered the meatloaf off the regular menu and it was outstanding. We had a great experience with the service and characters, Goofy spent a ton of time with DD. Rafiki was great too. I would go back...

We stay at the Swan a lot and usually the first night we eat at Gulliver's. So far dinner has never been disappointing. It is quite good, they usually have some type of buffet every nite (Italian, seafood, american, etc) and then their regular menu (if you don't feel like rolling out of there, LOL). I do recommend the personal pizzas from the menu.

I would not be hesitant about eating there, the food and service have always been good and it's never been overly busy so it makes for a somewhat relaxing first nite's dinner.

I do have to admit we did eat there for breakfast on one occasion and I was not at all impressed. We did order off the menu though, I'd be willing to bet the buffet is good but I didn't want to eat that much that day:)

The Lion King characters (Rafiki & Timon) rotate with Pluto and Goofy at Gulliver's (my dd is afraid of them all:() now for some reason:confused: It makes it a little tough for us to go there now.

1900 Park Fare is a good choice for a first night if you want dinner with Pooh & friends. They strictly have a buffet. I'd keep both PS and decide if you feel like making the trip to GF. If you have a car it's a pretty quick ride but by bus it may take a lot longer especially with small children in tow (requires a bus and monorail/boat trip).

1900 Park Faire was great for food and characters last Friday morning for us. I thought the quality of food was excellent for a buffet.

Thanks soo much for the replies.. keep 'em coming! I'm still on the fence, but leaning toward 1900 Park Faire.. I've seen so many good things about that, and few about Gullivers (but I'll try the search). I also think it is a good idea to keep both PS's and see how we feel. If for some reason we get there late, we may feel like staying at Gullivers. If we're antsy to go, we may want to do 1900 Park Faire.

I did not know Gullivers had dinner buffet - so that is good to know.

Thanks everyone!

Also keep in mind that Gulliver's is not nearly as hectic as 1900 Park Fare, if this is your first nite dinner and you also want to keep it low key, it' a good option. Just something else to think about with the young ones.

I had just read a post that 1900 Pk Fare was a little crazy at dinner and that the poster said it was easier seeing Pooh and friends at the park...but of course everyone's experience is different.

You probably don't see a lot of posts about Gulliver's because there aren't a lot of posts about the S/D restaurants and resorts to begin with.. which isn't a bad thing.:p

Hello there, just back this Wed, we ate at 1900 last Saturday...would totally recommend it!!!!! dd is 21\2 ds 5, complete hit, lots of character interaction. Special kids size buffet, cheese pizza, mini hambergers, hotdogs, mac n cheese, chick and fish nuggets. As well as lots of adult offerings. Great desserts too, kids could decorate their own cupcake. We also did Chef Mickey (NEVER AGAIN), Cindys, this was by far the best buffet we had the entire trip. Was relaxing, great atmosphere, can't say enough. Think we had a 5:15 PS, were seated right away.

No input for Gullivers, never been!! I would avoid Chef Mick at all costs!

Good Luck!

We are big fans of Gulliver's. The last 2 times we dined there, the food was quite good, the selection large, and desserts were to die for. The character interaction was amazing as this restaurant is much less crowded than over at the Grand Floridian. While I know that this is not a popular opinion, I will tell you that we were so dissatisfied at 1900 Park F. that the server inquired as to why we hadn't eaten very much. When I told her that the food was picked over, the presentation was sloppy and that the atmosphere was a horror, the manager came over and discounted our check. We left in a hurry and ate elsewhere. I know many people who really enjoy this buffet, but it just didn't do it for us. Another positive aspect of Gulliver's is that the theme changes making it seem like a new place to eat. For us, it is wonderful that our young son may order from the menu rather than have the buffet since he is too old for the kids priced buffet and too fussy to justify paying for another adult buffet.

COOL!! We're actually doing BOTH! We have a dinner PS for 13 at 1900 on 11/24 and then Thanksgiving dinner PS at Gullivers! Sounds like we'll have a great time at each!

Michelle

Wow, Thanksgiving dinner with Pluto and Goofy at Gulliver's-that should be fun, you certainly won't leave there hungry:)!! HAVE A GREAT TIME AT BOTH!!

Had the Seafood Buffet at Gulliver's last trip and it was a good meal with all you can eat crablegs. Their desserts were outstanding and service was great(there were only 6 tables filled)However only one character appeared the whole time we were there.(Timon)
1900 Park Faire was good also.Only wish they would go back to the Villains again, if only for a night or two a week.:(
