Does anyone know of a good place to stay in Sarasota/Siesta Key? We are planning to drive to the Gulf Coast for a couple of days for some relaxation after our Disney trip and are looking for a good beachfront property. Thanks!

I can't think of the place we stayed at in Sarasota, but we have stayed several times just a little further down in Venice Beach. We love it there! They are famous for have fossilized sharks teeth that wash up in the surf. If you have kids, it adds a whole new element to the beach experience. It is a beautiful area, with nice shops and a nice public beach. There is limited hotel accommodation, but there is a really nice Best Western right on the beach and a hotel called Inn at the Beach just across the road. Expensive, but anything along the Gulf Coast will be expensive if you want to be right at the beach. We go there every trip and are already talking about next March and where we will stay this time! Just a suggestion... :D

Siesta Key is one of the nicest beaches in the area. Unfortunately, we have yet to make it there ourselves. However, I can recommend a beautiful resort called Half Moon Beach Club on Lido Beach which is the next key or island up from Siesta and close to St. Armand's Circle where all the great shopping is.
They usually have great package deals with breakfast or picnic lunches included. It'a very romantic place but also caters to families.
