Gulf beach in February?

Looking at possibly going to Anna Maria in February along with a few days a Disney. We've been to Disney in Feb. (The freezing cold one in 2009) Does anyone know what the typical weather is at Anna maria for this time? We will be wanting to spend most of the day outdoor at the beach/swimming. We typically do MB in May.

Take this with a grain of salt as I'm a FL native who lives a few miles from Anna Maria. It's too cold for swimming in my opinion in Feb. Water temps will be in low 60's at best in Feb. Weather is hit or miss this time of year. We can have beautiful 75/80 degree days and then a cold snap can come in and we're in the 20's. By the beach with the winds it can be even colder. Feb weather is nothing like May.

Also, Feb is season in this area. May is not. You will find hotels, beach houses and condos prices much higher in Feb then in May. Book early if you plan on coming to this area in Feb. We have tons of snow birds (peeps who escape th winter weather up north) here then. It's busy everywhere and everything is more expensive. Car rentals can often be hard to come by in the peak winter months as well.

Thank you. We keep hitting it back and forth. Disney would be good, beach eh maybe not. I knew it was busy in feb but I thought maybe bec it is actually warm not just wimpy northerns escaping haha.

Since you live close by, do u have any recommendations? We will be traveling with 2 toddlers and a baby. Really looking for some things to do. We will be driving. Spending a few days at Disney and then beach. As I said, we usually do Myrtle beach and I know they are complete opposites. However, maybe some sort of shopping, activities of any kind.

Have you thought about going to Disney's Vero Beach on the Atlantic Coast?
