guitar

I occasinaly get them if there is a certian guitarist that I like on the cover.

No...

There are very few "amazing" guitarists nowadays. I could probably count them all on one hand.

John Mayer
Ian D'Sa
Justin Hawkins
Rich Robinson

Those are just of our generation... I don't know what it was about the pot rock era and 80's metal that spit out the gods of rock... but I sure wish it could come back.

Hear hear.

The only one I'd add to your list is Jonny Greenwood in Radiohead. Absolutely amazing guitarist.

I subscribe to Guitar World magazine and get it in the mail every month. I just wish that they would put better transcriptions in their mag, because the last thing I want to see is another White Stripes tab or some nu-metal garbage.
Did anyone on here ever listen to Steve Vai or Joe Satriani?Amazing guitarists.

Yes but we're talking about guitarists of our generation.

If you want to go into the best guitarist ever... Clapton wins hands down.

:sad2:

Hendrix!!

With Clapton a very close second. :D

Whoa! Hold on here guys! There is a lot of great guitarists out there, a lot of them undiscovered, and a think that it is a foolish statement to say "so & so is the best". There is no "greatest" player in the world. All of these great guitarists that all of you metioned are each unique individuals who play what they feel. They are not out to prove that they are the best or greatest. They just want to play their instrument. And that, ladies and gents, is what it is really all about. "Playing." I, for one, love the styles of Clapton & Hendrix. 2 of the most influential guitar players ever. But, has anyone ever checked out Stevie Ray Vaughn? That guy is like Steve Vai on the blues!

There are a lot more amazing guitarists of our generation than that. :confused3

As for the topic, I don't get those, but my dad does. He's just an amazing guitarist.
