Ok, we're tentatively planning a trip...but it's hinging on a decision we need to make on sending my son on a trip of a lifetime next year with a group, or doing a big giant family thing. ( :confused3 )

But either way, we're saving money like mad and I don't want to waste anything!

I've always been a devotee to the Unofficial guide, but I just saw a Frommers book called Frommer's Irreverent Guide To Walt Disney World. I was wondering if anyone has read it, and if it's worth getting in addition to the Unofficial guide.

Thanks so much!!
Robin :flower:

I've read both, and they are quite similar in tone, but the Unofficial Guide is much bigger and much more comprehensive. The Irreverent Guide was a good read, but I wouldn't bother to get it in addition to the Unofficial Guide.

See there, that's a bit more money saved towards the vacation! :sunny:

Frommers is good, but the UG is much better.

Just purchase the UG, you could always splurge on TGM too if you want something extra :)

Just got the 2007 UG and the UG for Kids. Waiting for the Passporter 2007 (due in November) and I always sign up for Tour Guide Mike, I think long term TGM has had the biggest impact on my trips with UG a back up of info, our first trip we had the Mini Mickey (small version of UG) and we found descriptions of the rides, and restaurants, shows, etc to be helpful in deciding if we wanted to do it)

I didn't think Frommers was anything special when I looked at it a few years ago

Frommer's is less comprehensive.

IMHO, UG is always the way to go. I get the Disney one, too, but mostly for the pics. The UG is definitely not as cute...sorry, Mr. Sehlinger! :teeth:

Dont forget to check the libraries around you, too. I was able to find the 2006 UOG right after it came out by checking several libraries in surrounding towns. Usually I can find a recent copy of the tour books, saving some $$$$.

OH my Gosh you guys, I completely forgot I posted this question!  I can be such a dork!

You all pretty much reaffirmed what I was thinking, but I thought I would throw it out there and see...you never know.

Thank you all so much!! And I will check out the library...that's a great idea!

:flower: Have a great day!
Robin
