I have a question concerning guests....we have college friends who live in Orlando that we don't see often. They would like to come to OKW while we are there. Has anyone ever gone thru the procedures as to how this would work or if there would be a problem with it. Would they be allowed to meet us at the pool?
Appreciate any info on this. thanks.... I probably should have said that this would just be for a day visit. Thanks again.

I certainly am not the "expert" compared to many others on this website -- However, I would think that having guests would not be an issue -- provided that you are bringing huge numbers of people to the pools (because that would be rude)... I also think it depends on how big of a room you have... You can "legally" have 4 people in a studio / 1 bd and up to 8 in a 2 bd. Even if they are not staying with you overnight, you would be well within your "rights" to have up the the amount that can sleep in your room use the facilities. Beyond that, again, IMHO as long as you are not abusive, there is no harm in it.

I was at Hilton Head, where my cousin resides -- my Aunt and Uncle were visiting her, but I had them join me for the Wine Tasting event...

with the new security I would think that you need to tell the security guard - when and who is coming and they would need an identification - but other than that - there shouldn't be a problem.

I've never done it at OKW, but I have had friends meet us at the BWV when we were staying there. All they did was say they were there to see the Sheehans in room whatever. The guard at the gate let them in after he made sure we were guests there.

You just have to have your guests tell the guard that they are visiting people who are staying at the resort. They will probably check to see if your name is on the guest list. I really don't think it will be a problem because locals and off property guests come into the resorts all the time to shop at the gift shop or eat in one of the restaurants.

Thanks to all for the information. I knew that with the tightened security that I would need to do something about the gate, but I feel better now about them coming to the resort to visit. Thanks again.

I have had guests at many of the WDW resorts including OKW and BWV and it has never been a problem. If the guests were coming just for the day we told the security guard ahead of time if they were coming for the night we told the front desk and the security guard. If the guests are staying overnight the front desk will even have a room key ready for them if you will not be in the room when they arrive. The guests must show ID to the front desk to get the room key.
