I have friends that would like to come see the resort while we are here. Is this allowed? We aren't talking about using the pool, but they would like to see the amenities that AKL has to offer. They have never stayed here. Will Disney let them in?

They aren't staying at a Disney resort, so they won't have a Disney parking pass.

Yes, it is allowed. You need to provide security with their identity and that they will be visiting you on day the are coming.

They can also just go over and let them know they want to tour the grounds (that is what we did before joining DVC) and they asked for a copy of license and told us where to park and we walked all over the property.

Yes -- you can pretty much visit any resort (Altho we got turned away from the Contemporary once in our car -- not enough parking) -- in your car (you get a 3-hour parking pass), or by WDW transportation from a park or DTD -- just get on the bus/boat/monorail for the destination resort. Sometimes it helps to have a dinner reservation, but visiting a guest should work easily at the gate, if they drive.

there are restrauants there so anybody can come when ever they want, you do not have to be there. they can tour the resort:cool1:

No worries, your guests can use the pool too...you're home and they are your guests! You are not breaking any rules.

Actually, they cannot use the pool, unless you have space under room occupancy in your villa and have KTTW cards issued to them. If you have the DDP that will be a problem as you will then have to add them.

Otherwise you risk the embarrassment of having them evicted from the pool area if they are carded, which is a distinct possibility with AKV.

I am sure others will weigh in with their own experiences, however those are the rules. :)

All of the Disney resorts, DVC and non-DVC, are open to the public. Anyone can visit, locals dine at resort restaurants all the time.

I invite friends who live in Orlando all the time, Disney is in business to make happy memories, they really aren't the room key police...that is unless you are at the Beach Club and in that case, paying guests do have the right to enjoy a pool not over run by pool hoppers.

I've also had guests go to the beach pool in HHI and had no trouble or issues.

But it is against the rules. You just choose to break them.

Yeah...that's me...a rule breaker! LOL I guess I don't read the "fine print" no one has ever told me I could not entertain with my friends at my resort on vacation - that's crazy!

It's not crazy, its the rule that you agreed to when you purchased DVC.
It is there for your benefit, as well as the benefit of other owners.

I'm sorry but you are just too argumentative for me. We're talking about going to the pool...big rule breaker...I'm going to enjoy my day off now. It might not be a Disney Day but I'm not going to deal with a Negative Nancy either.
