Guests in rooms

My sister works for a hotel chain (not Disney) and told me that guests are not allowed to have non-paying guests in their rooms at hotels. We are getting married in June and I wanted to have all the attendants get dressed in our room (CR). Will Disney allow this, or will they have a problem with it? We are getting married at the S/D and none of my attendants are staying on-site. I also want Disney to come in to do hair and make-up so they would have to come to my room as I don't believe Disney will travel. lol! DS says this is a no-no.

On another note, we are booking a room at CR and the CM I spoke with told me that the jr. suite would be the best for a honeymoon. Is the jr. suite worth the extra $$ in anyone's opinion? We have only stayed on-site at POFQ and never been to CR. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I don't think there is a problem with other people visiting your room. It's when they actually sleep there that you are supposed to register them and pay any add'l adult charges.

lol. That's funny.

Hotels would LOVE to make it that only the guests registered to the rooms can enter. The reality is that its impossible to police short of setting guards outside of everyone's room 24 hours a day.

I wouldn't worry about it. There's no way the hotel can really know anyway.

Nope, they won't have a problem.
You know, it's funny what we think before we know any better. I used to think that I wasn't allowed to be at the other resorts when I first stayed at DxL in '99. I hadn't found these wonderful boards and had never traveled to WDW before. So, I never checked out the other resorts since I thought I would be breaking some rule by being there!! Yes, I know...somewhat crazy. But, it just goes to show that there are no stupid questions. What seems obvious to us now, might not be so obvious to someone else who doesn't know better.

And no, I'm not saying that someone asked a stupid question or that someone said the question was stupid. The question the OP asked just got me remembering my own dopeyness back in '99.
We'll be at BWV for Thanksgiving and my dad and step-mom will be driving up from Pompano Beach to spend a day or two with us. I'm not too concerned about them visiting in our room. Of course, they haven't decided where they will be spending the night. I did offer our sofa bed but them will probably stay off-site!!

Actually it's funny that you mention this. When I was in HS many years ago (unfortunately I'm starting to get old) everyone would go to Seaside Heights after the prom. When we were juniors they would tell you 4 people to a room and no one would listen (of course hs-ers want to save money). For my senior year they implimented the wrist-band policy, where people staying at the hotel had one color wrist band and people who paid to be guests during the day got another color. If you were not wearing a wrist-band you were not permitted to enter hotel property (and yes there were police there). If you were wearing a guest band you were required to leave bt 10pm. Now with that said Disney is not going to kick people out of your room. You are spending lots of money to have your wedding there and they are going to do everything to accomodate you, so dont worry!

I was worried about this, too, but, my last two visits, I just asked the front desk. They told me just to call the guard station, and let them know who was coming, and there would be no problem with visitors coming over to our room.

When we check in at Ft. Wilderness, they will ask if we plan to have any visitors during our stay. Many people will have "visitors" stopping by.

Last year my DD flew down to stay with us for a week so upon her arrival we just stopped at the front desk and added her to the reservation and got her a resort ID.

Don't worry about it! My family lives in Orlando and when I stay onsite, they always come to visit. They don't use the hotel facilities, just come to my room and check it out, maybe stroll around the hotel and sometimes eat dinner. No biggie. I really don't think they will have a problem with your bridesmaids dressing in your room on your wedding day.... Just let them know at the guard gate they are coming for a visit. I think the rules are meant to avoid people staying overnight or using the pools, etc... not spending a few hours in a room getting ready for a Disney wedding...

Thanks for the help. I had never heard of that rule before, but we don't stay at hotels very often so I thought maybe it was true. Glad to hear its not (at least at WDW).
