Guests getting DVC benefits?

I am setting up a trip for my parents to SSV. My question is can they receive the same discounts that I would get? Dining, free internet, dvd rentals, etc. Do I have to be there? I just bought and this is all new to new.

It depends upon the perk and discount. Generally for the valet parking at DVC resorts, they have been requesting you actual membership card. Your card is also required fo the Annual Pass discount.

While other places may also require the actual membership card, many dining discounts and free dvd rentals are given because the room key says "DVC MEMBER", I think the free internet is also a perk based upon the room key.

Just remember that all these discounts are subject to change, and could require the actual membership card at any time, but it never hurts to ask.

I was under the impression that our "Key to the World" was all we needed. I don't think I've ever brought my membership card with me on our trips! Oops!

I have been asked for my membership card many times - valet parking, pool hopping, purchasing AP's. Better take it from now on!
