Guest Test of Magic Bands (Official Notice)

FWIW, the bus drivers have told the DVC sales people that the bands and the rapid fill mugs will be rolled out by the end of August. LOL!! I had a difficult time keeping a straight face.

I don't find that hard to believe.. Some kind of band roll out will be done shorty after this last test.. IMHO
 
I talked to a cm today not that what they say means much but she said the system should be pretty much rolled out before the end of the year. She also said that 40 days before your stay the system will let you know if your elegible for future testing.

I'm taking this with a grain of salt, I've learned from the dis that cm info can b hit or miss

I guess I will see in appox. 5 days :) if this info from CM is correct.
 
Hey Everyone! I talked to an IT today because I didnt get an email, but on my MDE I could customize the bands. The IT person said that the testing stop on Aug 24 (the day before free dining begins) but since I was so close the computer is going to let me do it. SO I might get them, I might not. He said if I do to bring them to the front desk when I check in. Just thought you might like to know!

Can anyone tell me how long it took for the customized magicbands to ship/arrive after you ordered them online? We are leaving for Florida on the 7th (but not due in Disney until the 20th) and want to be sure that I will recieve them in time if I customize them! I'm assuiming we will just get the pink and blue ones if we pick them up when we arrive at the resort? BTW...We are staying at the YC too. Thanks.

Also...Does anyone have any pictures of their customized band they can post??
 
There are pics on one of the other threads.
Not sure which one...there are so many.

I customized mine on either a Sat or Sun and received them on Tues.

I customized ours last Weds (evening), and they arrived on Friday. The customized ones are in your color of choice, with your names printed on the inside. I have seen photos of grey ones; perhaps that's what they look like if you do not customize them? (I am only guessing.) Also, I read that if you are within 10 days of your arrival, and you customized bands, they will be waiting at your hotel.

So is 40 days the current time frame from trip date that you would expect to be able to customize magic bands or has anyone seen it at the 60 day mark when you are able to check in online?

I understand that 40 days may be the notification of testing eligibility in the august time frame but just wondering how far in advance you can customize the bands.

No testing period has been activated at 60 days out yet...
 
I'm not sure if this is the right thread for my question, but thought I would try.

I saw a different thread this morning http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3148572 about September guests getting FP+ access from the MDE website. So I checked our reservation online (we have a one night room only stay on 8/31 at Pop Century and then a MYW stay from 9/1-9/8 at BWI under different reservation numbers) and sure enough the system is letting me make FP+ reservations for 9/1-9/8. In addition, I am being given the opportunity to customize magic bands under the Pop Century reservation, despite no tickets being associated with that one.

I called Disney to ask if we are now part of tester program or if we are just part of actual live program. Unfortunately, the CM I spoke with sounded pretty clueless. After a lot of what sounded like typing at his terminal, he said the program is not live and if we did not receive an official email invitation to participate in the test (we have not) any FP+ reservation we make in the system will be blanked out.

Does anyone have any insight as to what is going on? :confused3
 
I am part of the August test and I am so excited!! My magic bands arrived on Friday and the email invite to participate came today. My question is this - I am staying at AoA on the first part of my trip then switching to CR. Do I have to check in at CR before I can use my magic bands? I'm not sure how that works so want to plan according if I need to stop at CR before heading to MK

We are doing a split stay also with the CR being our second resort. I am pretty sure the bands are only going to work for the CR part of our trips. Can you reserve FP+ for the AoA portion?
 
My bands arrived today! We check into the CR on Aug 25. I had until July 25 to customize my bands and then the order was finalized.

I've been able to make FP+ selections every day of our trip. We check out on 8/30. Still have not gotten a letter or email about the test though.

Expect the letter and email on August 8th if they continue to do things as they have been so far.

My advice is call back and ask another CM. I called a month ago with a question and DH was literally on the phone for 45 minutes with the outcome being an e-mail saying they were sending our question to higher powers to figure this most difficult problem out. After not hearing back and really wanting this problem resolved I called back a couple of weeks later and the CM told me how to fix it and it took all of 2 minutes. So sometimes what is one CM's expertise is not another but they have another expertise.:cloud9:
