Guest Parking at Bay Lake Tower

We are staying at Bay Lake Tower and will have some friends who live nearby visiting us. Are they allowed to park in the BLT parking lot or do they have to park at MK or TTC and get to BLT from there? They used to be able to park in the BLT lot, but I believe the rules around that may have changed.

I would think no parking for non-registered guests. People take advantage and park at BLT to go to the MK. In the end it will be up to the security guard at the gate.

Unless, they want to valet park (anyone can comeand do that when visitng others at a resort), you will need to talk to the front desk personnel about the issue. Usually, if you provide the identity of the guests to the front desk and then to gate security, they will be able to come in and park with a 3 hour pass.

Last December we had an ADR at the breakfast buffet on the ground floor of the Contemporary (but we were staying at the Poly). We invited a guest from Daytona Beach to join us for breakfast. The guard let her park in guest parking (for Contemporary, not BLT). I don't know if that is the standard policy, or if he was just using his discretion.

Also, if your Villa is not full, you can add your guest to the reservation, and they can park as a guest.

I've had local Orlando friends visit me at BLT many times before. Just make sure your friend knows your last name and room number. They can give this info to the guard and have them say that they are visiting you during your stay.

The problem with this is that the parking lot is small and when others park there, it takes away from other paying guests. Disney needs to ensure DVC members staying there are able to park. Your guests may be able to pay valet over by the Contemporary instead.

Yes, and Disney needs to do something about that. Imagine, which has happened to me several times, arriving at BLT for your vacation stay and finding there is no parking available because of non-DVC people parking there. It's a problem and Disney need or the DVC association to address.
