guest not on plan but wants to be with us?

My family has the dining plan and we just found out that my sister is going to be in Orlando for a few days during our stay. Can she join us and just order a drink. I've been able to change a couple of our reservations to include her but in at least one instance she won't acutally want to be eating but just hang out with us. I can't see a problem with this but I want to make sure?

You should be fine as long as it's not a buffet type place. I think they charge everyone at the table at places like Chef Mickeys. I would think that would be fine at any regular restaurant.

I don't think it matters what she eats or whether she is on the plan. The only issue is if they will have table with enough chairs to seat your party with her or not. Most of the time (not always) tables are set for even numbers so 3 is (usually) same as 4, 5 as 6 etc. So if you are an odd number your table will probably have a seat for her however, if you are a even number it might be more of a problem. Easiest fix would be to call and get them modified- while it takes longer sometimes calling magically gives you options not available online.

Even if she's not eating though, she counts as a person for your reservation, so you should keep trying to get a table that includes the extra person. If you can't, show up with her and hopefully they will be able to accommodate you.

Thank You for your replies. I think because I've read threads about not being able to share your dinning credits I was concerned that servers would have a problem with her being there and not ordering food.

Not a problem- we've met with family that live in the area and have annual passes at both Crystal Palace & Boma and it was not an issue to have a mix of DDP/non DDP at the same table. The servers asked us at the beginning of the meal at both places who was on the plan and then billed accordingly.

It won't make a difference regarding using dining credits. Make sure your server knows who is on DDP and who isn't, and the extra person will get a separate check. But if the restaurant is a buffet or all you can eat place, they may say she has to pay for a meal if she is going to be at the table. It is also true that whether she eats or not she counts as a person on the ADR, so if you want her to be there you should probably keep trying to add her, as there is a slight chance she won't be able to be seated with you if she is not on the reservation.

You can't share your dining credits in that you cannot use your credits to buy food for her. If you plan to feed her from your dining credits, that is not allowed. If she is going to sit at the table with you and order her own food, that is fine.
