Guest for a few days

My wife, son, and I are staying for 9 days at WL. If my father wanted to stay in our room for 2 nights, do we need to pay any extra for the room?

I understand that he will need his own tickets and dining.

No, he does not want or need to be on the dining plan. He would also buy his tickets separately.

If he will be a 3rd adult, then I believe there is a small charge. The reason to add him to a reservation I guess would be for the CMs in case of an evacuation.

If he doesn't need DME then I would wait until he arrives at the resort and take care of it then.

There is an extra charge of $25 per night per adult over 2 in any deluxe room. That is the only additional charge.

What my be an issue is where he will sleep. There are only 2 queen beds in each room, no daybed, and the rooms are small.

I would assume he would share with the son, since it's a couple and one child in the original post.

In the past, I have always gone to the front desk and let them know that I would be having a guest for X number of nights. Sometimes, if it was only one or two nights, they waived the extra person fee. Sometimes, I've had to pay it. But I've always told them when there were more than two adults in the room.

We had friends on vacation outside of Disney. They had their car and were going to stay with us one night before heading home. We asked at check in and they said it was okay. We were expecting a charge but they waived the fee.

And if the resort waives the fee, that's fine - it's the operation's choice. But if (and I refer to NOBODY in this thread!) the Guest chooses to 'waive' the fee by not notifying the property of every adult in the room, well...
