Guest Assistance Pass at Universal?

Hi everyone!
We are getting very excited for our trip in two weeks! We've gotten a GAC for my daughter at Disney in years past but didn't know about the situation at Universal. Do we go through the same procedure - going to Guest Services first? Where is that when you enter US? And if we get a GAC there, do we approach staff at the front of the ride entrances? Not sure how it works there.

My daughter is most excited about WWOHP and thinks she can do the big rides but she is unable to wait in long lines, particularly while standing and/or in the sun. If she is feeling lousy (depending on the day), is there still a way she can see the inside of Hogwarts and Gringott's without going on the ride?
Thanks!

When you enter US, Guest Services will be to your right. Just tell them that you are there for a Guest Assistance Pass. They may ask a couple general questions, but overall it is a very quick and painless procedure. It will be a paper card that when folded is about the size of an ID. We put it on a lanyard.

How it is supposed to work is that if the wait time is less than 30 minutes, you will be allowed right in to the Express line. If the stated time is more than 30, the Team Member at the entrance of the attraction will write a return time on the GAP. When you then return at that time, you will be sent into the Express line. I say "supposed to" because we have never had a time written down. We have always been directed right into the Express line.

I hope you have a wonderful time! UO is my daughters happy place. :)

Just curious - what about in cases like Harry Potter where there is no express line?

My daughter didn't want to ride any of the HP rides so I'm not sure. We did take the Hogwarts Express which does not have an Express line, but my daughter is in a wheelchair so we were directed to the lift. I hope someone else can answer that for you!

there are (fake) express lanes at HP rides, even if they are not labelled as such and are not used for express
It's the roped off lane just next to the regular lane

At gringotts, the main hall is divided by a rail. Left is standby, right is... Let's call that ADA for now ...
Last october there was less than 30 minutes and we were directed through that line. You walk straight up to the preshow room. Then you need to take the lift down, and then back up the stairs to the loading station (there is a big camera to take the picture halfway through the line, but only managed to operate it once ...

Hogwarts Express has 2 options (talking about Diagon alley/kings cross, can't comment on The hogsmeade station)
Show your card at the entrance. The greeter might ask if you want to go through the wall or straight to the platform.
If you have a wheelchair, straight to the platform is your only option.
We went direct to the platform. You're directed to a lift and exit right at the point where the TMs dispatch guests to their numbered rows to board the train

At any ride, ask the TMs, they'll explain the procedure for their ride
