guesses on when Haunted Mansion will close for Holiday overlay?

We are really hoping to make a quick trip after labor day and my 4 year old really wants to go in the "ghost house". He only has been thru the holiday version.

Any chance we can squeeze a trip between labor day and the closure?

But seriously... last year the HMH overlay schedule wasn't officially announced until the first week of August.

Hmmmm. Based on historical precedent, it looks like I have about a 60% chance of having about a week of time after Labor Day....

We may go for it. I feel lucky.

I just saw on disneyland.com that the HM will be closed starting 9/8 our first day there !

Oh well I guess we will miss it, that gives us more reason to come back !

Yep, 9/8 to the 26th, if I recall correctly.

That is interesting closing date information, for I had been told that the day after labor day is normally when it is closed down, the information was by a guest relations rep. not terribly long ago. It is good to have an exact date now.

We will be there the 5th-9th to celebrate DS's 1st birthday (which is actually on the 8th). I am a bit bummed that we won't get to ride it on the 8th itself as this was DS's first DL ride way back when he was 7 weeks old. But, at least it will be open our first few days in the park. And, obviously, riding HM on his b-day is much more about me and my memories, than anything he will or will not remember!

cheshiregirl, sounds like this time he'll be able to experience the normal HM rather than what I assume was holiday HM, so even if it's not a nice "bookend" experience, it'll still be nice!

Good point bumbershoot! We have been twice since he was born and both times were during HMH. So, even though he was on HM numerous times in utero, this will be his first time on regular old HM!

we're visiting from 9/18-9/26 and it will be closed!! this is definitely one of my favorites. i'm glad to see indy not on the list, it was shut down the entire time we were there last year in october.

Miliani, are you going to DL at all on the 26th? Looks like it's scheduled to open on that day. Opened last year on the 21st, and we were there that day, and it went smoothly, opened on time and all. Hope you can go in, if only for HM, and that it opens on time for you too!
