GUESS WHO'S COMING TO FREE DINNER, or, Feeding Nebo,,,,completed

ha ha ha, I'm glad to see you all have such sport at my expense.

Tiggerwannabe, thanks so much for the photos, Gatorland looks cool.

Boy oh boy, where did the time go?
It seems like I was just writing about the incredible, amazing Neboman and his reflexes on the Tower of Terror.

The Dis has been a fixture on this computer for about a year now, and when I first found it, I immediately got hooked on the trip reports.

And I got lucky.

The first one I read was somebody named Tiggerbell, and I liked it a lot.
That was followed by ZZUB and La la. Those were great also.
Back then, I was Lurker Extraordinaire. I hadn't even joined yet. And I kept thinking "Hey, maybe I could do this." Then I started some that bored me to tears, or just seemed like they were airing out dirty laundry. These were then followed by the Happyhaunt, mel, and. her. one. word. sentences. But I did enjoy it so I joined up and had to try it myself.

Once I started, I couldn't believe how "all encompassed" my mind became on it. And me in my naivette, thought, "hey, maybe if it's funny enough, I could be discovered and be asked to write a weekly column for a paper, or maybe become the next Dave Barry or Erma Bombeck type.

Well, were still waiting for the discovery part, ha ha.

The first tr started in August and ended in late October, with a two week break before I started on this September trip. And this tr almost didn't happen. Not when I saw that ZZUB and La la both started another trip report, And with Jaime's latest going on and Lexmelinda"s, and Utahmama's that I think she started during the Carter administration, I just didn't think people had enough time to fit another one in.

But by then, Diane was hooked, and she talked me into it.
Well being discovered or not, it has been a blast.
All of you regulars, and it's always a good thing to be regular, I feel like I have known you for years. There is absolutely no way this could have been as entertaining without all the witty posts from you guys.

And I thank you.

I honestly have to say that I don't know if I'm going to do another report on our May trip. I think I might have gone to the well too many times. Let's face it, it's when things go wrong that make it easier to write and write funny. And I'm not really looking forward to things going wrong.

With any luck, this next trip will go smooth.
Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

But, you never know.
Maybe if we're all lucky, I'll get hit by a runaway ecv and break a leg.
We'll see.

Now, without further ado, I would like to personally thank the people that made this report so easy to write.

Granny, little Jimmy, the cast member at Big Thunder Mountain,
(ah hahaha, if you could see the looks on your faces)
the pool cleaner man, the human vomit fountain, and the rest of the characters. It's people like all of them that make the report "interesting".

Like I said, this has been a lot of fun, and I'm going to miss doing it.
Except for the times when I screw up, and boy when I do, I do it royally.

I just sent out a personal apology to Bytheblood. I was too quick to make a sarcastic sounding joke about the screen name, and Diane reminded me;
"Uh Steve? I think by the blood means saved by the blood of Jesus Christ."

And there have been other times.
But all in all, it has been an endeavor that I just devoured, but now it's time to go back on the diet.

Here come the part where I screw up again, cuz I'm going to leave somebody out. Please be kind.

Utahmama, thanks for the referrals. Many more trips to you.
Suzflee, Winkers, monymony, Thanks for your inputs and helping to keep this flowing.

Rhondalee thanks for occasionally putting Jaime in her place.
Belinda, boy, I hope things work out for you, you sound like a sweet girl.

Samanthal: lotsa luck with the day care at home, thanks again.

McDisney and Marita, hope you have many trips left to the Magic, even though Marita can just about walk there compared to most of us.

Jill, I hope your hubby surprises you with a trip there next time.

Smidgy; thank you for your support, honey, your still a ten in my book.

Harleygirl; thank you . Please remember that drinking and bikes don't mix.
Shoot, Nebo and bikes don't mix either. I once dumped a 350 Honda just turning a corner.

Tiggerwannabe: it's Colleen, right? (brain cramp) Thank you for including me in your contest and you were one that followed over from the first trip report. Thank you.

Kay; Special Kay you have been a riot. I still break out in Suess speak now and then because of you. Thank you, and by the way, you won. Even though our trs started on the same day, you outlasted me. Good luck and many trips to you.

Lexmelinda; Thank you for all your support. And trying to make me a better puter geek. I still remember your sign off on your report, and it's still one of the most heartfelt things I have ever read. hugs By the way, say hi to Sheridac for me if you talk to her. I missed her this trip.

Tiggerbell: Scarecrow I'm going to miss you most of all. You not only kept me going at times, but made me laugh in the process. If your ever in the mood for a bit of a drive, take 90 out to rt. 25 and go north to Carpentersville. Maybe one afternoon or evening we can give Diane a hard time when she's working at the Bittersweet Tap.
I don't know if we'll have a chance to meet in September. Right now a September trip has an Itsakadoozie's chance in the TTC parking lot of happening. Have fun on your next trip in April, once again, we'll be right behind you. Thank you Jaime.

I guess that's all I can think of right now so I'm going to say goodbye, and thank you everbody else for reading. Wishing many more safe trips for all of us. Steve

I think, therefore, I tink.

"Honey, I've been thinking."

"AIIEEEEEE!!!"

"No, really, you know how when we check out of CBR and into Coranado we have ressies for the earliest dinner at Maya Grill?"
"Yeah," "SO?"
"Well, that night we want to go to MK for EMH that night. But after a big meal at Maya, well, um, you know how sometimes our internals don't always behave, well, I just don't want to be walking around the MK all night looking for a bathroom. You know?"
" So what if we moved that dinner over to Thursday night, after the water park when we're at CBR and then we can move that counterservice over to Pepper Market, and eat earlier in the day?" "I know we said it's stupid to drive when we're going to end up there anyway, but you know, desperate times, desperate measures."

She thought.

"Ok, but if we're going to drive to dinner anyway, why don't we drive over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge and try Boma's instead?" "We've already tried the Maya Grill."

"Baby, you're the greatest!"

WHAT? Nebo, no trip report? Say it is not so? This thread can never die. You have such a wonderful style if sharing your vacation...this is so entertaining.

Thanks Steve, aka Nebo, for all the enjoyment I have gotten from your trip report. I wish I had found it earlier. In fact, I wish I had discovered you while you were writing your first trip report. I have read many clever and well-written reports, but not only were your episodes funny, your personality shone through, and your unfortunate ailments and problems added to the comedy. It would not have been funny if you weren't able to laugh at yourself. Many people with far less physical problems than you sit home and don't go anywhere. Kudos to you for not letting your problems ruin your life. And so for you, this fictional tribute:

Smidgy looks at her cell phone and says to Nebo, “Look there’s a message.” She presses the code to retrieve the voice mail and listens intently, then breaks into a big grin.

“Who was that?” Nebo asks.

“It was Mickey, Donald, and Tigger."

"Huh? What did they want?"

"They were calling to schedule a Character Breakfast.”

“They want us to come for breakfast?”

“Well, sort of. Actually, they're coming to have breakfast with you. They’d like an ADR for 9:00 AM the first day of our May trip, and they’re bringing autograph books for their favorite Character to sign.”

Nebo, if it's not you, it's your amazing trip report groupies. Thanks for the funny, man!

Marie

Say it ain't so Nebo:sad: We need a :grouphug:
Yours was the second trip report that I read :surfweb: (Jaime's being the first of course) and I can't even think about it being over :faint:
So won't you please :listen: to all of us who :worship: you and write a May report?. :thanks: for the hours of reading and the many :lmao: :rotfl: :happytv:

Hope to meet you and Smidgy one day whether at Disney (or Universal - that would be one way to get Jaime there) or somewhere around town.

Rhonda
