I hate to admit this for fear of being stoned, but I am worse than you Nebo. Not only do we occassionally go to That I-4 place, but we also go to SeaWorld once in a while. Worse, we don't do all the Disney parks when we go. We usually only do one or two per trip, and save the others for another visit. We do things Outside like Kennedy Space Center, big flea markets, off-site dinner shows like Medieval Times, or Mystery Sleuth etc. We have been to museums and all sorts of non-Disney places. We like ALL of the Orlando area. There is just so much out there, that while I understand those who want to experience Disney 24/7, I love the buzz and excitement of the hundreds of things to do in the area, right down to the cheezy gift shops like the place that looks like a giant orange, etc.

Tomorrow night, I will probably babble on. You know, get all maudlin and hanky soaked but for right now, I have to ask you guys a question.

Are we the only ones that like to spend time at the beginning or our trips , down at Universal? Now that I think of it, it doesn't seem like anybody else has ever really commented on it.
We both like it there, but our LOVE is with Disney, that's why we always do Universal first.

Please, if any of you feel the same way, let me know.popcorn::

My kids and nephews and niece like Universal...

I'll admit it.

I Love Disney! My kids like rides...Universal's Islands IMHO has the best thrill rides of all the Orlando Parks. We tend to switch where we spend the majority of our vacation. The last trip was mostly Universal with 2 days at Disney. The trip before that was all Disney with on day at Universal. The next trip I plan on hitting Sea World and Discovery Cove (cause we haven't been there since 2000.) We'll most likely split the rest of the trip evenly between US and WDW.

This is my kid's doing...when I go to Florida, I wanna do Disney! I've done at least five trips sans kids and husband just so I can get my Disney fixes in...they can have their trips cause I'm still gonna get me mine.

Wow! I'm aghast , agape and agog.
Again.
let the stoning commence!
Ah, but are you still on dial up?

I have to admit, once we're in Disney, we pretty much stay in Disney the whole time. That's why we do Uni first. Though we have also been to Busch, (just for the free beers, of coarse), and Sea World, but that's about it. I would like to see Gatorland though. But the Medieval times and flea markets and Murder parties, we have that all here. By the way, we used to act in a few murder parties around here. i usually end up playing a drunk who ends up dead. go figure

The ol sundial says it's time to get back to work, so adios

I would pay big money to see that show. ;)

can you believe we've never been to Gatorland? and Nebo used to be a card-carrying member of the Chicago Herpetological Society!:confused3

Are you serious?! You two really need to take a day and go to Gatorland!

We loved it there...only did it once, way back in the day, but it's still one of my favorite memories with my kids. Here are a few pics from that day...and to tell you how long ago this was, the kids in the last pic are now 18 and 21.

...these are all clickable if you want to see the full size photos...

Whats a "herpetological"?? Sounds like some sort of disease!;)

Nebo, I am so sad your report is almost over

My only comfort is your epilogue and your next trip report.

Please write soon, we will miss you!

Herpetology is the study of reptiles. we used to have various snakes as pets. at one point, we were breeding corn snakes (and our friends think the only thing we are interested in is Disney!;) )

monymony: funny how you can take an email sometimes. Yeah, I got it all wrong. Darn, good sarcasm gone to waste.

later

Maybe it's the vikes!:confused3 I wouldn't know being in the condition I'm in and being pure and all......:rolleyes1

Whoa, I am so behind here.

Gotta go read and read, and read, and read................

:badpc: I can't believe it.
Well, I'm sure you guys can.
I just lost 3 hours worth of thinking and typing and pouring my heart out, well, they were all vanquished in the wink of an eye, when I tried to add one last picture from photobucket. AND IT WASN'T EVEN A COOL PICTURE!

I did all I could, and then the whole thing locked up.
Shut up Melinda, don't make me come over there!

soon

It's true! alas:sad1: nebo called me at work tonight very irritated, frustrated, etc. I answer the phone "bittersweet!" all I hear is "3 and a half hours. it's gone! 3 and a half hours!all gone!" "um, no, sir, it's NOT gone. I'm still open for a few more hours, maybe not 3 and a half, but you still have time for a few drinks" "no, no , you don't understand!!!" "yes sir, come on in; we bartenders understand everything (as long as you keep tipping)" "no, it doesn't matter anymore, it's gone, all gone!"
"oh I didn't realize it was you , Mrs. Nesbitt, and take off that stupid hat! shape up! Andy NEEDS you!!! (as does tiggerbell, and rhonda and kay, tiggerwannabe, and soonergirl, and backstage girl, and mony mony, and winkers, and don't forget lexmelinda!, and harleygirl, and suzflee, and bee) buck up! what's another 3 and a half hours? you don't have to wake up until 4:30 AM! do it over again - DO IT NOW!"
guess not. my poor baby. I'm sure it was very funny, (he said it was GOOD STUFF) and if I know my sweetie, he will remember most of it.
