I DID! ^__^

I had my eye doctor app. yesterday and tried them but COULD NOT get them in my eyes. The thing is tho, I was tired. They had put those drops in that made my eyes wig out and be all O___O. And! I hadn't eaten at all that day.

And then I had 3 different people 'coaching' me at the same time. And it was like ;>__< "LEAVE ME ALONE PEOPLE!"

So eventually I was all *sighs* "Ok. I'm tired. My eyes are watering and red. I don't think I'm going to get them in today. Are ya'll open tomorrow?!"

And they were. So I came in this afternoon and tried again. I was struggling again at first, but then like after the third attempt, I FINALLY GOT THEM IN! :D

They made me take them in and out like three times to make sure I knew how to do it and it was honestly harder to get them out than in, because they wanted me to 'pinch' them out. You know what I mean?! And I was like "But...how?!" and it took me a while to get them out, BUT I DID! ^__^

But...wow. For those of you that have these things, how long did it take for you to get used to them? Because it definitely feels like there's something on my eyes. It doesn't hurt, it just feels weird.

And it still feels like I have my glasses on kind of, but I don't! ;>__<

And I actually had to pick out SUN GLASSES today! And I haven't been able to wear sun glasses since I was in like, the second grade. I didn't know what to do with myself in the store. :headache:

But...yeah. How long did it take to get used to them?! Because this is just so...weird.

Oh lucky you! I've been wanting to go for contacts for the longest time.

Awww, thanks! You should!

They really are quite amazing. Except, it took me FOR EVER to be able to touch my eyes. They kept wanting to close on me and it was hard to fight against that whole instinct of 'ZOMG! THING COMING TOWARD EYEBALL! NOT GOOD!'

If you do go to get them someday, practice touching your eyes before you go in. Maybe if I had done that, then the whole issue would have gone by a whole lot faster.

Now though, the TRUE test will be if I can get them in again tomorrow. I sure hope so. I don't want to have to go back to the doctor again-or at least not until next week. ;>__<

Well, I've only had them for a little over 24 hours, but so far I like them. :) It definitely feels like there's a piece of plastic sitting on my eyes when I'm wearing them tho (and I'm wearing soft contacts)-but I asked my parents about it and they said that eventually that goes away and you can't even tell your wearing them after a while.

And I pretty much have getting them IN down. I definitely still have to work on taking them out tho. :headache:

I nearly had a panic attack a second ago, because I could get the left contact out ok, but I COULD NOT get my right one to come out. My eye doctor told me to get them out by grabbing my upper and lower lids and 'pinching' them together so that the contact would just kind of pop off so I could grab it. And I was able to do it fine yesterday-but today? That right contact just WOULD NOT come out. I tried. And I tried. And I tried again. But after a while I was seriously like DDD: "GUYS! IT WON'T COME OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

*dies of PANIC!spasms*

Eventually my dad ended up walking in and was all "Do you need help?!" but as he did...it came off. :sad2:

But honestly? If I had to choose between wearing glasses 24/7, getting contacts or having lasik done, I would so totally choose this! I can get through this whole, clueless beginner issue I'm dealing with right now. And when I finally do-it'll be amazing!

REVIEW FOR THOSE WHO ARE THINKING OF GETTING THEM! ^__^ :

1. When you are very first putting them in, your eyes will more than likely freak out and water like no other. But that's ok! Just like, hold your eye open as best as you can and DO NOT look at your finger as it's coming to put the lens in. Focus on a mirror or something. That helps your eyes not freak out as bad and makes it easier to put the contacts in.

2. Be prepared to buy a pair of sunglasses if you do not already have a pair lying around somewhere. I don't know what it was like for other people, but when I walked outside for the first time with them in, it was like "WOAH! BRIGHT LIGHT!" But you know what tho? Sunglasses make you look cool. So that's fine! :cool1:

3. After wearing them for a while, they make my eyes feel really tired. I think that may just be because my eyes aren't used to them yet tho. Hopefully in a week they'll be better. I sure hope so-especially since I have to go in to the eye doctor again next week so that they can make sure I haven't poked my poor eyeballs out yet. :headache:

Other than that tho, really? They're awesome. No more having to push my glasses back up during the day because they're sliding off my nose. No more having a giant glare over my eyes every time I have my picture taken. No more having to take my glasses off every time I have to put my make-up on and then not being able to find them again afterward.

Yup-the pros definitely out-weigh the cons. And I think that most of the cons will fade away after wearing them more and getting used to it.

I'm nearsighted now
found out last week

Oh lucky you! I've been wanting to go for contacts for the longest time.

Contacts are really great, I've been wearing them since I was 14 so nearly 3 years now. They are great on rides at Disney as you don't have to worry about losing your glasses and you can wear sunglasses and be able to see.

Though, when at Disney, I find it hard to take the time to take them out and put the glasses on at night, so sometimes I would be wearing them for like 15 hours and with mine I'm only meant to wear them for 10 hours so I would get really tired, and sometimes a headache. :headache:
