Guess What? We're Going to Valdosta!! A May 2012 PTR! 06/06-TR Link Posted!

We ate at Teppan Edo during our last trip, and the entire family enjoyed it so much that we're doing it again this May!

I LOVE your light-up fans!
I think your niece & nephew will love them too!
The vinylmation Mickey is a great idea for autographs. I don't think I have ever seen that idea before.
The camera strap is pretty cute too!

Your DN will love pick-a-pearl. Do you remember the carraige pearl holder that I bought for Lexi that was in my 2010 tr? I bought it on ebay before the trip for less than $10. It's been two years now, we both wear it, & it still looks great! I thought it would have turned, but it hasn't.

That pick of Mike with the churro is too funny!
I hope he doesn't read the dis or you will have to pay for that! :goodvibes

Haha.. Love the pic of Mike!

I can't wait to hear how you like dinner. We tried to eat there without reservations on our first trip (we had NO clue we needed to make reservations at that point!) but the wait was too long.

Oh my goodness! I so want a churro now!!! I love those things!

We are really sad about test track too. It's one of our kids favorites.

We're trying Teppan Edo for the first time too! We'll have to compare notes when we both get back. :thumbsup2

Sorry for the churro cravings!! The DIS isn't a good place to come if you're hungry! lol

Yes, I'll be interested to hear how you and the family like Teppan Edo. I'm really excited about trying it!!

Awesome! I've read a lot of good reviews about it, and I'm really glad to know that you liked it enough to try it again!!

Thank you, Amy! I thought the fans would come in handy! Plus, I figured it would be cheaper to buy them now instead of waiting until we get to the parks!

I'm hoping the Vinylmations will work ok. I'm a little worried about toting them around, but we'll figure it out!

I sure do remember your Cinderella cage...it was so precious and I'm glad to know that it's holding up well!

Haha.. Love the pic of Mike!

Now you see how he really is in Disney, huh??

Isn't it funny how much you've learned since that first trip!! I'm so excited to hear all about this trip when you get back...I sure am going to miss you while you're gone!

Tuesday's plans call for a little something other than a park day...In trying to make this trip as much about Mark and Jaden as possible, we decided to book a Guided Fishing Excursion for them! Of course this is mainly for Mark since he loves to fish, but I think Jaden will have a great time, too!! Mike and I did this back in 2007 and had a ball!! It's definitely one of our favorite memories from that trip! As you can see below, I caught more than just fish that day...

Mike and I have both been wanting to do this again for a while, so when we decided that we were bringing Mark and Jaden on this trip, we knew this was it! We've told them that we're going fishing, but they think it's in Valdosta!! They have no idea that we'll be fishing the waters of Bay Lake!!! We're booked for the 7 am excursion leaving from the Wilderness Lodge, which is the same place that we fished before. It's really so cool to be sitting on the boat in the beautiful morning sun while taking in these views:

Once we're done fishing, the rest of the day is pretty much for whatever Mark and Jaden wish to do. I'm thinking that it'll probably turn into a pool day, but we shall see. We don't have anything planned until our dinner ADR at Chef Mickey's.

This will be their first character meal and I'm really excited to see how it goes! I of course, will be excited to see the gang, as always!

After dinner, once again we have nothing planned...so whatever we do will be decided by the kids. I have to say that this is a first for us, but mostly me...I tend to be a bit OCD when it comes to planning our Disney vacations...I like having everything planned out as much as possible...but sometimes you just gotta go with the flow...though I'm really not one of those people who can do that very well, I am going to try my hardest this time and whatever the kids choose to do is what will be!:)

I think Chef Mickeys sounds like a fabulous first character meal for your niece and nephew!

Also---I'm having a hard time seeing in the picture--What else exactly did you catch?

Thank you--I thought CM's was a great choice for their first one!

Sorry that you can't see the picture very well. I actually caught a bird...you can barely see his head sticking out of the towel that the hand is holding beside me. Our guide had to get him unhooked for me, and there was no way I was gonna try and hold that bird!

I had no idea you could book a fishing trip at Disney! How fun! I'll have to file that idea for a possibility on another trip.

Chef Mickey's breakfast is one of our favorites! Such a fun character breakfast. We watched Goofy spank Donald on our last trip. It was like watching two brothers having a little spat.

Before I start with our plans for Day 4, I wanted to share a couple new purchases that we made for the trip...

On Sunday, Jaden and I spent the day together while Mike, Mark and my Dad went fishing. I decided to take her to the Mall to try and find some new shoes for the trip. She's had several pairs of Crocs in the past and really liked them, but has outgrown them all. I wanted her to have something cool and comfortable to wear while we were there, and this is what we came up with:

Notice the Flower Jibbitz? That's what they came with, but she found some that she liked better, so here's what they look like now...Quite appropriate, don't you think:

Once we were done at the Croc store, I decided to take a stroll down to the Disney Store. While we were there, Jaden spotted the Cinderella wedding gown and really wanted it badly! I knew that I couldn't buy it that day, but I did let her try it on to make sure she could fit the size 10 since she wears a 12 in clothes...

Thankfully it fit!! Even though she really wanted it, and I really wanted to buy it for her then, I put on my brave face and told her she'd have to wait...you'll see why when I post our Day 4 plans. Thankfully she was okay with that, and I was just really happy that she could fit into the 10 since that was the biggest size they had!

So that wrapped up our shopping for the day! She wore her Crocs home so that they'd be broken in good by the time we leave for "Valdosta"!

I did get one other purchase in the mail over the weekend as well that I was really excited about, though it's mainly for the kids. Since neither one of them have ever really been on a very long road trip (other than last year when they went to the beach), I knew that 3+ hours at a time in the car was going to seem like forever to them. So I started thinking of ways to help pass the time and immediately thought of getting a portable DVD player for the car. My sister has one in her car and they love it, so I decided to go for it.

I found these online at Wal-Mart and really liked the fact that you can play two different movies which should be great since they'll both probably want to watch different things! Jaden and I actually hooked them up on Sunday and they work great...so they are really excited to try them out on the way to "Valdosta"!

That's all the new stuff-for now. I do have a really big order coming from the Disney Store that I'm really excited about as well as some other odds and ends that I've ordered here and there, so as soon as those arrive I'll make sure to share those as well!

I don't think the fishing trips are advertised very much, but they are a lot of fun! You should definitely try it some time!

Too funny about Goofy and Donald...sometimes you just never know what to expect from the characters! The first year we ate there, Mike had to leave the table to run to the restroom. While he was gone, Goofy came by and noticed me sitting alone. He proceeded to take Mike's seat and sat there until he came back. When Mike got back, Goofy grabbed my hand and acted like he was taking my wedding ring off and throwing it away. The interaction between the two was quite comical! Now I tell Mike that Goofy's my boyfriend! :)

Just found your PTR and am definitely subbing! :thumbsup2

It must be an interesting experience, planning a WDW trip with kids for the first time. It looks like you're doing really well, so far! I think they are going to enjoy Teppan Edo (it'll keep them entertained) and there are so many rides and shows at Epcot that I don't think they'll get bored.

I could not find the PTR the other day when we talked so I tried it again today and found it! You and Mike will win "Best Aunt and Uncle of the Year" hands down without any competition! I am so excited for ya'll :cheer2: and remember when you first mentioned taking them! I love your trip report! :yay:

Yay, I'm so glad you're here Alicia!! It's an honor after I've enjoyed reading your reports so much!

I am SO excited about taking Mark and Jaden, yet so very nervous. I just hope they like it! It's definitely going to be a different experience for us, that's for sure. My biggest fear is one of them getting lost! We definitely have to have that talk about what to do if it happens. But I'm praying that it doesn't.

Woohoo!! So glad you finally found it, Kim--sorry you had a hard time!! You know I love having you here!

I think I'm more excited about taking them than I was when we went for the first time...seeing everything through their eyes is going to be so wonderful!! How old was Kenny when he went for the first time?

Kenny had just turned 7 yrs old when we went on his first trip. He was a trooper even in the heat of the summer. Every morning we would buy 4 peanut butter captain crunch bars when we ate breakfast and put them in his pockets for a snack & boost of energy throughout the day and evening lol ~ all nutrition rules went out of the window when we arrived at WDW! It is one of my favorite memories ever when I walked a few steps ahead of him and his daddy and turned around to see his face when he stepped on Main St. for the very first time and saw the castle. The twinkle in his eyes was priceless! It will be a great experience for all 4 of you and I am so excited for ya'll!

I took a recent school picture and wrote his height, weight, etc on the back of the photo and put it in my bag. That way if we got separated from him, I had all of the information anyone would need to help locate him already available. We also had "Kenny Patrol" ~ meaning that if he was with me and for some reason wanted to go a separate way (ex: restroom) with his daddy ~ we always said to the other one.."you are on Kenny Patrol" ~ that way we always knew who he was with at all times.

I want to first start by apologizing for the lack of updates lately. It seems like things have been a little busy lately! First, Mike and I are planning to run the Tower of Terror 10-miler in September, so we've been trying to stick to our training in the evenings. By the time we get home from our runs, it's time for dinner and the everyday household chores! And on top of that, Internet Explorer won't allow me to access Photobucket from my laptop. (Anyone know why this is happening?) Lastly, our weekends have been pretty busy lately as well. I'm going to do my best to stay on top of things from here on out...which reminds me that out countdown is at 47 days!! I can now say that we are going to Disney NEXT MONTH!!:dance3::yay::woohoo::cheer2:

Anyway...so when I last left off I'd posted about some recent purchases that we'd made for the trip, and while I have more of those to share, I want to cover our Day 4 plans first...

After having breakfast in the room, we'll be heading to my favorite park in hopes of making it for the opening show...

I'm really excited that the new Dumbo will be open as well as Goofy's Barnstormer!!

With no lunch plans having been made, we'll more than likely end up at a familiar counter service somewhere. Mike and I have eaten at Casey's, Pinnocchio's, and Cosmic Ray's, so one of those three are a good possibility. Or, we may just surprise ourselves and try someplace new...that's part of the fun!!

I am pretty certain that at some point during the day we'll be making our way over to Aloha Isle to indulge in one of these beauties:
IMG_2483-1.jpg

At 4:30, we'll be heading over to the Castle for Jaden's appointment with a Fairy Godmother in Training! This is her big thing for the trip since Mark's is the fishing excursion. When I first started thinking about doing this for her, I wondered if Mark would want to take part in the Pirate's League, but when I hinted around to him about it, he flat out told me NO! I'm really excited about seeing Jaden all dressed up in her Cinderella wedding gown, which is the one that she wanted...I ended up ordering it for her the week after we checked it out in the store. It came in last week and I was really excited to have it:

Along with these shoes:

She has no idea that I got it for her, so she's really gonna be surprised!!:cloud9:

After she's all fancied up, we'll be heading over to the GF for our dinner ADR at the Grand Floridian where Jaden will get to meet her favorite Princess!! Mike and I dined here last year during the Princess Half weekend for my "celebratory meal" after finishing the half, and we both really loved it--Mike more so for the food and me for both the food and the characters! I'm really excited to be going again!

After dinner, we hope to return to the park to fit as much in as possible before ending the night with the MSEP and Wishes!! I'm just hoping that all of us can hold up that long!! I'll leave you with my favorite Wishes picture from our 2009 trip, which was also our last time seeing it:

Yay for updates!! :yay:

My laptop doesn't let me go to photobucket, either. It always has an error message. It's weird. I don't know why it does that, but hopefully somebody knows.

I love that Cinderella dress!

That's so weird that neither of us can get to Photobucket. I thought maybe it had something to do with the Firewall/Security settings, so I tried changing them but that didn't work either. Surely someone here knows why! It sure would make my life a lot easier if I could access it!

I never knew or thought of Cinderella's wedding dress til we saw it in the store!! I can't wait to see her all dressed up in it!:bride:

I would love to catch the opening show at MK---In 10+ visits, I've never once seen it!

Cinderella's wedding dress is beautiful! I don't think I've ever seen it! Jaden is going to love it! :)

Yes, you definitely need to try and see it sometime!! It's a great way to start the day!!!

I think so, too!!:)

I love the dress and the trip report! I am so excited for ya'll!

Thank you!! It won't be long after we get back until it's y'alls turn!!! :thumbsup2
