Hey kids guess what Michelle done did, well we were at the pin event and ran into Jim Mathews, but first we ran into the cowgirl that wears leather and packs two six shooters, she walks around the boardwalk and does little mini shows, well she made us do this Yeeeeeeehawwwww yell that scared the rest of the pin traders away. So Jim Mathews came over to see what the heck we were up to.

So Michelle asked Jim if he had gotten a Scoop pin, but alas Jim said he’s been so busy that he had not had a chance to get to the Magic Kingdom to see Scoop. Well Michelle told him that he needed to have one, him of all people the one that most people consider the father of pin trading, he needed to have a Scoop pin so he could display it proudly on his shirt during the pin events.

So Michelle’s magical moment was presenting her Scoop pin to Jim Mathews. I thought it was a wonderful thing and Jim was very touched, he accepted it from Michelle and promise to wear it proudly.

So Michelle you go girl you done a good thing.

Without question of all people, we are soooooooo happy
that Michelle (aka Guardian Pin Angel - Chef's Wife) :)
awarder her Scoop Pin to Jim Mathews!!!

She is one of the best pin friends out there and Jim
Mathews is soooooo deserving of this honorary PIN!!!!!

We wish we could have been there but what a great
moment it must have been!!!!

HUGS,
Dana, Michael, Justin and Brittany :)

A fantastic pin, from a fantastic person, to a fantastic person!!

This so like Michele. She truely is the "pin Angel". Whenever she see's a Pooh type pin, she hangs on to it for me to make sure I have it. She's a "SCCOPIE" beyonds words!!!

Thanks for giving out the magic as only you can do Michele.
Love ya, mean it!!

Hey guys!

Thanks for all the nice words. Any of you would've done the same thing. It was one of those spontaneous moments that happen. The opportunity presented itself and it felt like the right thing to do. We were hanging out in the Boardwalk Villas hotel lobby to get away from the rain & humidity Sunday night. Jim Matthews walked by and stopped to chat. He left us and I asked Ed if he thought Jim had a Scoop pin. Ed said he was sure he must have one, he figured Scoop gave them to all the big pin honchos in special events. Anyway, Jim walked back by and I stopped him and asked him. He said no, he hadn't been over to MK in a long time and hadn't seen Scoop recently. Well, for Jim Matthews of all people to not have a Scoop pin just wasn't right in our universe. Those who have been involved in pin trading since 1999-2000 know how hard Jim has worked for this hobby. You'll also know that we are VERY LUCKY that he is still with us in 2003 after his battle with illness. Through it all, he kept working whether from a
wheelchair or with a cane. His contribution to our little community of fanatics is immeasurable. He puts up with us and our complaints, demands, & venting our frustrations at him and still manages to keep smiling and not tell us all to go jump in a lake.

When Scoop gave us our pins at Survivor Magic Kingdom we were given specific instructions on what to do with them. I have worn mine proudly and it was an honor to be able to bestow it to someone so deserving. I've learned a little pin karma goes a LONG way. Now I can break out my "Gold version" and wear it instead!
Happy trading & good pin karma to all,
Michelle
