Guess what my DD did??

My DD, almost 12, has only had one haircut in her life. When hanging down, it reached her tush! She decided she wanted it CUT!! At first I was really hesitant, she has such pretty blonde hair. She wanted to donate it to Locks of Love. So....yesterday afternoon, I put it back in a ponytail....and cut 14 inches off!!! She printed out the form to send to LoL, and we're sending it off today!! I'll try to post a picture later when she gets up. In her school picture in Oct., her hair was so long that it doesn't all fit in the photo!! It's now chin level. When she showered last night, she said she felt bald!!

One thing you need to do with the hair before sending it is to mark on the outside of the plastic bag how long the hair is. I had measured quickly on her head before cutting it....that's where the 14" came from. Well....I measured the pony tail last night....it's really 18 inches long! Didn't realize I took that much off! She does love the short hair already!

Locks of Love is a wonderful program - one of my instructors last year was just about to cut her hair again and send it in. She cuts it, sends it, grows it back out and does it all over again.

I have donated my hair 3 times, the first pony tail I sent was 21 inches long!! My hair was so long, I could sit on it. When I finaly decided to cut it (not an easy decision) a friend told me about Locks of Love and that made the decision a little easier.
I just let my hair grow again and the next time I sent 12 inches (my hair grows fast)!! 10in the last time. My boyfriend has also donated his hair twice (one of those long hair rock and roll types). Once my hair grows long enough I will do it again.

It's a wonderful program, and everyone who has long hair should donate at least once. It's only hair and it Will grow back! These kids are not that lucky.
