I'm laughing as I've just responded on the planning board, but I think it's so good - there's something a bit extra special about a (almost) spur-of-the-moment trip. I've done trips without park visits before and enjoyed them every bit as much
It was pretty spur of the moment, and only feasible because of being able to do it on such a tight budget, but I'm really looking forward to it now it's booked It's such a shame we'll miss you by only a couple of days at VB, Moira!
Actually, now that DH and I have had a chance to chat a little more about what we might actually want to do on this just-the-two-of-us trip, I think I might try to change our OKW reservation to BWV or BCV, if there's availability. I've always wanted to go to Jellyrolls, but it's never been an option with DDs along, as they have both been under 21, and DH loves the Clambake at the Beach Club (or is it Yacht Club? LOL), so rolling back to a base on the Boardwalk would be good . Then there's the Flying Fish ... you get the picture? I might even look into the Dining Plan Maybe it won't be such a budget trip by the time we've finished!
Oh I do, I do When the bill for the dues arrived this week I actually thought of you. At least I think it was you who said she even likes receiving the bill - because so do I; sad or what?
It sounds like a great idea to change to BWV or BC if you can, and I think that for a short visit, the DP would be good fun too. I would have trouble with it for a long stay though - I love a bargain so much I'd need a fork lift truck to load me back on the plane home
Jellyrolls is one of my 'new' favourites - I've been 4 times in the last couple of visits and 3 of them were just brilliant. We always do Cape May's Clam bake too. I noticed that Spoodles wasn't on your list
Ooh, I think I'd be jealous of your trip if I wasn't going myself! I'll be there with friends who have never been to the USA before so the first week is doing a whistle-stop tour of LA, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon and Palm Springs so WDW will be the relaxing bit - now there's a novelty
Great news - we love Vero Beach it is a great resort for families or couples. Are you heading down there straight from the airport or staying a night somewhere first??
Moira - yes, I do enjoy getting any mail from DVC, even the annual dues statement!
You're right about the DDE - it's not available to use for DVC stays until April. Oh well, that's one less decision to make
Tink - we're staying on/near IDrive for the first night before driving down to Vero. Apart from not wanting to drive straight down after arriving, we're also save our weekend points by doing this.
Miffy - I'm typing this whilst on hold for MS to try to change our ressie ...
No luck last night, so I'm plotting my plan of action for waitlists
My preference would be for a 1-bed in VB and then a studio in BWV - at the moment I've taken a studio in VB and a 1-bed in OKW as that was the best option available when I booked. I appreciate that I'm rather a long way inside the 7 month window , so I won't be disappointed with whatever we get.
