Guess what I'm watching for the first time ever!

That's one of my all time favorite movies. I have it on video. I need to upgrade it to DVD.

I saw it for the first time at a theater when I was around 10 years old. I was impressed that it had an intermission!! :)
Saw it on TV several times, then bought the video and have watched that several times. I'd guess that I've seen it around a couple dozen times or so. I need to get it on DVD soon as it's one of my favorites.

hmmm...i think i've seen it a time or two ;)

it's really my number one all time favorite movies! i discovered it when i was in 8th grade. someone challenged me to read the book for a book report. i read the book and i watched the movie. i fell in love with the story...my boyfriend (now my DH) had never seen it and didn't really understand what all of the hoopla was about. i ended up winning a contest through our local newspaper and i received tickets to a special showing on the big screen. it was the 50th anniversary...well i dragged him with me! and he loved it!! he watched the whole thing...and it's still one of his favorites to this day!

i collect GWTW memorabilia. i have plates, pictures, statues, ornaments, books...i've even taken a vacation centered around GWTW! there was a special exhibit at stone mountain a few years ago. i flew down to see it...played around atlanta a bit...got to see margaret mitchell's home where she wrote the book...and the highlight of my trip was getting to see the actual front door frame used for Tara in the movie...and behind it, was the actual painting of scarlett in the blue dress that rhett had hanging in his room. you can still see the stain from the liquid that clark gable threw at the portrait. it was awesome!

Many, many times. I have it on video. GWTW is my favorite movie. The book is great.

More times than I could ever count. It's the first movie I can remember seeing in a theater with my mom....and I'll ALWAYS remember it.

Can you imagine what it would cost to make a movie like that today??

Hmmmmm, might just have to curl up with that one tonight. ;)

Never seen it.

We got it free on DVD with the purchase of our DVD player but I haven't sat down to watch it yet.

Read the book in 6th grade, and have seen the movie about 4 or 5 times (and yes, I am secretly in love with Clark Gable/Rhett Butler . . . who could forget that zoom in shot of him, leaning on the stair bannister, smiling up at Scarlett?)

But DH absolutely will NOT watch it -- at least not the part where Bonnie Blue Butler goes out on that pony ("Just like Papa . . .") :(

I've seen it at least 12 times, if not more and I've read the book 3 times (the movie does leave a lot out!). A wonderful movie!

i'm with you on that one Deb!! i've always had a thing for Clark Gable as Rhett Butler!! and that scene..gives me goosebumps everytime!! "He looks as if, as if he knows what I look like without my shimmy!" lol...i love that part...

~sigh~

I've seen it too many times to count
at least once a year since I was little

Frankly my dear, too many times to count. Besides The Sound of Music this is my All Time FAV. Had my DH buy me the tape a few years ago to the tune of $90 for Christmas and never opened it-Collectors item. He just doesn't understand and got so mad at me for never watching it.

I can't watch this part - or the part when her father dies. :(

But, other than that - once a year, on Super Bowl Sunday. :teeth: And I read the books - the original and the sequel - every summer.

I've seen it lots of times. It's a touristy draw for the area I grew up in.....Jonesboro in Clayton County.
