Guess i did not get my wait-list. Bummed!

As I have stated, I usually do book our trips at least 7 months in advance but this was a gift given to my parents back in August as a 'family reunion' and I had no more advance than that. As soon as I found out, I booked it.

I guess I just assumed that it would have come through. But you know what they say about assuming...

So you don't think the fact that it's over a long holiday weekend has anything to do with your odds of getting in at less than 7 months??

Wow! The judgement on this board are ridiculous!

Yes, I am sure it had to do with the fact that is was MLK weekend. But my waitlist was not for the MLK weekend, it was for Tuesday - Saturday, after MLK weekend.

We have almost always have good luck. But we don't ever waitlist for a week at a time. Mostly three our four nights to go with whatever was available at the time.

I've had one waitlist come through out of maybe four tries and all have been waitlisted at the 7th month mark. Last year we got BLT over Christmas week at 7 months out and this year I was hoping to get AKV over T-day week but no such luck. I actually thought AKV wouldn't be a problem b/c it is a larger resort. We're happy to stay at our home BWV but we also enjoy change and enjoy checking out resorts we haven't been too.

Do try to keep calling since its just for three days you may get lucky!!!

Ummm, OK, no need to get your panties all in a twist. It was not a "judgement". On Saturday 1/7 you posted this:

Since MLK weekend starts on Sat. 1/14 and you posted on the previous Saturday that you were down to 7 days it sure as heck sounded to ME like you were going ON MLK weekend. There was nothing to indicate otherwise. What did I miss in your first post that said you waitlisted starting on a Tuesday?? Your post said you were going on Saturday. I guess my telepathic ability to know that you really meant TUESDAY even though you SAID Saturday was on the fritz. I will have to get that brainwave function looked at.

But so whatever, I still think that MLK weekend is figuring into your availability problems. It is a pseudo holiday time for a lot of people who want a winter get-away without taking a full week off. I don't think it's surprising to find some resorts fully booked.

don't feel bad....I have never had a wait list come thru either! I had to stay in a 3 Bedroom villa and waste 79 points for one night! and by myself!

I called MS yesterday to check on a few things with 2 upcoming trips. When I inquired about a 2 day waitlist on a reservation, MS didn't even offer to check availability while we were on the phone. I didn't push it because it wasn't a big deal to me, but I thought they usually checked when you asked about it.
