Hello everyone i'm wondering/want to have a discussion about when do you think that those rides will be open? Summer 2018? 2019? or later? DHS is having a lot of construction so it should be intresting

No official dates released but what I have seen they want the Mickey ride and up and running by the time Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opens to help with crowds - so that will be like 2H of 2019

GotG should be done by the 50th of WDW which is 2021 - could be earlier but I am seeing 2021 as an estimate

The Mickey ride opening kind of makes sense but then kind of doesn't because wouldn't disney want to space the openings out so they make more profit?

Guardians is spring 2021
Mickey is fall 2019

We have a thread dedicated to opening dates as a sticky that has this info and more.

I don't think the Mickey ride will pull people in like Pandora, Star Wars, Toy Story, etc. GMR is a people eater which ought to help with congestion when SWL opens as @TheMaxRebo suggested.

This won't be quite the people eater GMR is but it will help with the crowds.

Since I assume this won't be a 20 minute attraction like GMR, what are the chances they don't use all of the space for the ride? That could leave room for another ride, back stage areas, or will they just put in multiple tracks? Another thing I wondered, could they possibly leave the Wizard of Oz section untouched to continue using for private parties/tours?

Martin on wdwmagic said they will use 85% of the ride space. And since it is trackless there won't be room for another track.
