Guardians & glasses?

I have never done the Guardians of the Galaxy ride, not even in its previous incarnation as Tower of Terror, and am wondering if I need to somehow secure my glasses when riding it. Are there any fellow nearsighted folks here who can advise me? I do have contact lenses but haven't worn them much lately, due to allergies. Do I need to bring some kind of sports strap for my glasses, or am I worrying over nothing here?

I wear glasses, no problems at all. The ride does go up and down a lot. Unless your glasses are loose on you, you should be okay. If they're loose (to your temples) then maybe a pair of croakies?

My glasses flew off and they're usually tight on my head, so maybe I just have bad luck. I've been on 6 times and after the 1st time, I've taken them off just to be safe. My purse also flew in the air even though I was holding it. It might also depend on what sequence you get?

I won't be riding GOTG till next month but I always took my glasses off when it was ToT, and plan to on GOTG also. I don't know if they would fly off but I don't want to risk it.

If they are really snug on your face, you should be okay. Look down and shake your head...if they move at all, take them off.

I haven't taken my glasses off for a ride since about 1976 when I first rode The Revolution at Magic Mountain. I've never had my glasses fly off my face. Once on Screamin', my husband's reading glasses did fly off his shirt (they were hanging from the neck of the polo shirt) and he caught them mid-air.:earboy2:

Thank you! That is extremely helpful to me. I'm generally big on having my things firmly attached to me, such as sun hat with chin strap, fanny pack rather than purse, etc. May make me look a bit dorky, but stuff is less likely to fly off or otherwise get lost.
:D

The seven times we rode GotG, we always saw people who'd left things atop their heads that we, ourselves, had put away, figuring discretion be the better part of valor. But nobody ever lost anything.
