Guardian angels

[Buzz Rules]

As a Catholic, we believe everyone (whether a person believes in God or not) is given a guardian angel at the start of life to watch over them. When I was little, the parish priest at the time said we are allowed to name our guardian angel since everyone has their own unique angel assigned to them. So I’m curious if you ever named your guardian angel or if not, what would you name him/her? I hope this thread is seen as respectful. This thread is not meant to judge believers or non believers in anyway. With the new year about to start, I just think we have many things to be thankful for and praying for a healthy, happy, and safe new year never does any harm. Happy New Year everyone.

I believe in Guardian Angels. For some reason I have always thought that my older brother who died as a child before I was born is mine. He was born with spina bifida and passed when he was just 29 months old. I was born 3 years later. I don’t know why I have thought it was him but I know I have as far back as when I was a child myself.

I definitely believe that angels are watching over us. I have not named any of my angels. I just assumed that God had already named them.

I too thought guardian angels already had names. I would name mine Violet. Not sure why, it just suddenly came to me.

I'm not really religious but I 100% believe my older sister who passed away before I was born is my guardian angel. I've always said it was her since I was little.
Not sure how it works for other people who didn't have an older sibling pass. My mom said she never named hers or thought about it.

I never named mine. I know I have one, because I've been helped more times than I can say. I keep him (her?) hopping, for sure.

I remember reading in one book that most people don't know about their guardian angels because our focus is supposed to be on worshiping God. No angel from God would dare reveal themselves without His permission, in case they accidentally made the person stray and give worship to them instead of God. That is, there are a few people who were lucky enough to 'know' their angels, but most just work with us for His glory.

Mine has been my warrior champion in times of danger and my dearest friend in times of loneliness. But I can't think of a name that would encompass that being in just the right way. But now you've got me to pondering.

I believe more in spirit guides, which would be similar if not the same to guardian angels. I concentrated on knowing who he/she was and prayed about it and wanting to know their name (I heard about this from a man I know who is very spiritual). Anyway you are supposed to pray about the guide and their name and it will appear to you. Sure enough one certain name kept coming up. I had a dream I was taking to a person and used that name. Then I kept seeing the name everywhere, in books, tv, commercials, Facebook etc.
