Guaranteed room with placeholder?

Can you use the placeholder discount with a guaranteed room? I was thinking no but now I can’t find my answer online.

You can use it to book a Guarantee/GTY rate (the type that does not have "including restrictions" in the rate title), but not a IGT/OGT/VGT (guarantee with restrictions) rate. We just booked a European cruise on a normal Guarantee/GTY rate using our placeholder.

You have to pay in full at time of booking and you lose the full fare if the reservation is cancelled or changed.

It's a highly discounted offer. Broad category (interier, oceanview, verandah) and you let DCL assign the stateroom. Paid in full at booking, no cancellations, very limited changes allowed. It will clearly say "with restrictions."
