GTY and one person doesn’t sail?

Later today I’m planning to book a 9/10 Dream sailing with the GTY rate for my adult daughter and I. There is a small chance she won’t be able to go because of work. I still plan to sail. This is ok, right? I know we won’t get her port fees or insurance refunded and I will pay the same rate as if 2 people were going. The GTY rate says no name changes though.

I know I could call but, with the chaos going on,I knew you lovely people would have the answer much faster than the 5 hour hold time I’d end up with.

OP here updating for anyone looking for info in the future. I called DCL when they opened and thankfully didn’t have a lone wait.

You CAN drop a person from a 2 person GTY booking and 1 person can sail. Nothing will be refunded.

Pretty sure that is just if you had already had the cruised booked—in that case they are relaxing cancellation policy because they just came out with the new vaccine requirement. Or you can cancel within 14 days if you have a Covid-19 related reason. If you book a new cruise now though, pretty sure you would have the 60 day cancellation schedule.

I’m not sure. Normally, no. But with COVID chaos, who knows? I actually WANT to go solo if my daughter cancels. I was just afraid there might be an issue since it was a GTY.

You can still go solo even if your DD can't. I don't believe you can get any refund of the taxes or port fees or insurance. You also cannot have someone to go in her place.

Oh sorry I didn't read correctly that you are about to book this thought it was already booked.

I would honestly just wait its unlikely anything sells out that way you can make sure that the other person will go.
