We booked a spontaneous cruise about 2 weeks out LOL. Since it was spontaneous, we went for a GTY 5E. We just recieved our room assignment last night and we have stateroom 7688.
It is accessible. Were excited about the larger balcony but concerned about the unnecessary additions. Has anyone stayed in one who doesnt need an accessible room? With the bathroom, was it an issue, water on the floor, only having one bathroom? Is the automatic door and lack of room divider a problem? Looking for any insight please!!

ALSO: is movement in the back of the boat awful? I get motion sickness sometimes (might all be in my head though ;) )

We LOVED our "partial HA" cabin. The space is incredible! Verandahs have a great view. Haven't stayed in that specific room. Hard to say motion-wise as everyone is different. Google photos for interior pics of that specific room. :D

Ours did have the one bathroom with roll in shower. I really liked it. Lots more room and the floors don't get any wetter than a normal shower. We didn't have an automatic door, but we had the larger, wider door.

I could be wrong, but I think the only TRUE HA rooms are 6686, 5686, 5186, 6186, and 9170. Aft wise anyway. That could be way old information that I have though.

We just received our room assignment on a 5E gty for Sept and we got cabin 7190 which is a HA room with huge balcony and the room is bigger than a normal 5E. We love aft cabins for the view and the oversized balconies. You will feel more movement and some vibration but it puts me and my wife to sleep, nothing crazy unless it is very rough out. I am lucky as I grew up on the water so the motion doesn't bother me. Cabin 7688 is the same as our cabin except reversed and on the starboard side of the ship so you will have a great view of Castaway Cay. Here is a video of our cabin 7190 that I found online but will give you a very good idea of how cabin 7688 will be configured

We have not stayed in the HA rooms on the Dream/Fantasy, but we love, love love the Cat 5E rooms (i.e. 9174) and always select the aft-facing cabins, preferably in the center of the ship. Huge balconies. Some vibration, but we've really only "noticed" it when the ship is pulling into ports. As far as motion goes, DH & I use the anti-nausea patches (scopolamine), but DD doesn't use anything and has always been just fine. (Disclaimer - we've never cruised in super rough seas yet)

Thank you so much! Im glad to hear the water in the bathroom isn't an issue, and that the motion isnt too crazy. Looking forward to great views and a great cruise! :goodvibes

We had the cabin right above on deck 8. It was amazing. I agree that the shower was not an issue, the floor was fine. The room was huge and as to the veranda, WOW! We had two lounge chairs as well as the usual two seating chairs and little table. We could have had 30 guests out there and not have been squashed.
The one thing I will mention is we had an issue with soot. Most mornings it would be all over but the room steward would wipe it all down and we would be set for the day. If we wanted to use the veranda before he got there we would just use a towel and wipe the chairs. Not sure why it was an issue in the mornings but it was.
Have a great vacation.

Probably because, at night the ship goes faster. More fuel = more soot.

If you are traveling with kids, the lack of a shower and the lack of a divider could be troublesome. I also know that 8682 the bed is between the connecting stateroom door and the door to the hall. Luckily it isn't noisy at the back of the ship from passers by.

The shower facilitiy was fine, I did notice a lack in space in the bathroom for toiletries. Not really any counter space in there.
The television is also comically small for the cabin size. So be sure to mention that on your comment card. You can't see it from the bed its so small!
Someone gifted us slippers in a fish extender. Great for mornings on the verandah due to some soot build up. Otherwise I would have just gone bare foot.

Would book 5e again gty, if I was traveling with a spouse, would be more hesitant if I knew i needed the ext
ra bathroom space and room divider.

We did a last minute veranda guarantee and got a HA room as well. (It was one of the older ships.) We had no problem with motion but our room had the white wall on the balcony, not the rails like the video, and for my husband's sake I felt bad we didn't get a bathtub. He likes to have a scalding bath at night to help with sleep issues. The room was soooo much cheaper, I'm still not sure if we'd do it again.

We've had a similar room on our last cruise. It was not necessary (not handicapped) but we really loved it and the gigantic balcony. Enjoy!

I had the aft cabin in the Dream I forgot the number 7188 maybe? anyway, no big deal with the movement at all. I LOVED the huge balcony. The sensation of larger space was wonderful. Lucky you!
