There has not been much talk, but seriously - don't you find this just WEIRD? No snow by the middle of January? :confused3

I wonder if this is a freak weather occurance, or a large example of how global warming will affect us.

If winter is milder than ever, do you think that means a hotter summer?

My DS7 says Santa goofed big time - bringing him a new tobaggon. :rotfl:

Sure has been a strange weather winter.... next week is showing +5 and rain again on Tuesday!! I don't mind the warmer temps but I really am getting sick of the rain and mud..... not good at all for my pony's feet.... not to mention his body thinks it's spring already and he's shedding out his winter coat!

Global warming at it's finest I'm sure!!

We are having the same type of winter here in Northern Ontario! We had grass, green grass, up until last night, we got about 4 to 5 cms of snow, and except for Xmas Eve that was really all of the snow we had!! Boxing day it was all gone after the snow Xmas eve. It is still snowing here today and calling for another 2 to 4 cms, which is nothing, when you are used to having snowbanks over our head. We had a great summer as well. People love to ice fish here, and there hasn't been enough cold days to make ice, and they are warning to stay off the ice. It is colder today, about -10, and calling for -11 tomorrow with the windchill of -21, it seems colder because it has been so nice. On the 30th of Dec, it was so warm +3 we went for a walk in our sweaters! Insane, I am not complaining, I am not a winter person, but it certainly has been a weird one!

Southern Ontario has had it pretty easy. There's been snow in Ottawa since before Christmas and has stuck around since. Today more snow and freezing rain. So while it's less than we normally get, it's here and I for one would gladly do without it!

We are fast becoming the freezing rain capital of Canada here in Kingston! It is really hard on the trees. We lost part of our tall birch tree clump in the backyard and part of our large Juniper bush by our house. I would much rather have snow, cold temperatures and bright sunshine. Driving in FR is so treacherous! Luckily we can hunker down in the house and don't have to go out unless we want to. Great chance to take down the Christmas decorations.....:rotfl: Almost time to begin packing for Florida :cool1:

Well now I know why we got the snow here in Hamilton. People jinxing it.:) Just kidding. I'm happy the way the winter has been. Not a fan of the white stuff. I just hope it doesn't stick.

My mother in law and I were just talking about this bizarre winter the other day. We weren't really complaining, but I agree about hating the rain.

We finally got a small amount of snow today, just a few centimetres, but in another few days, the temps are supposed to rise, and it'll be rainy all over again.

Make up your mind mother nature, is it winter or spring?!

I don't mind the snow that we've been getting today, but I could sure do without the wind. The blowing snow made driving awful, with really reduced visability. No biggie in town, but DH has to drive home from Kingston tonight.:scared1: Looks like it will be a nice weekend, though, before the rain comes back next week and we're back to dealing with mud.

I was telling my husband a couple of hours ago, that I feel I jinxed it by posting this topic. :lmao:

However as a PP mentioned, temperatures will rise and melt it away in a couple of days. (Toronto area). At least the kids will get to go tobogganing this weekend for a change.

Not in the GTA, but the weather patterns are very weird and I don't like them. I like 4 seasons, that is one reason that I live where I live. This should be the height of ski and pond hockey season in Nova Scotia.....yesterday the temp was 8 degrees.
