*GT to FLR

I did search through the prior posts before posing this because I know that I have seen this answer, so sorry in advance, but can someone please confirm that you CANNOT switch from booking at *GT to FLR if FLR comes out after I book a *GT rate. Thanks.

No, you can't make ANY changes to a *GT. You could change a regular fare to FLR, but not the restricted fare. You would have to cancel the VGT and rebook the FLR.

Edited to add: this would be considered a category change, which is not allowed under a *GT, in case you want to know why specifically it can't be done .

But technically, if you had cancel any time for any reason trip insurance, you could cancel for the cost of the insurance...for us that cost is usually around $200-$300.
