OK, has anyone ever gotten a grumpy server at WDW restaurants?
I mean really grumpy, looks like he/she so did not want to be there?
Well we sure did!
Chefs de France, we were seated right after it was open at noon. You would think since they just started the CMs would be all chirpy... Nope... not this guy... Cedric...
Holey smokes, throughout the whole dining he did not crack 1 smile.
He did his job tho. Bread, drinks, food, bill everything timely.
I never thought this would bug me. I always thought that when I go to a restaurant as long as the service was prompt I should be happy. But man oh man... this particular one REALLY bugged me.
Maybe he's a robot, who knows... but he sure was grumpy.
If you're wondering, I still tipped him 18% (the food was great!) but phew... it would probably be a bit more if he had smiled a little...
Did anybody else had the same experience at any other restaurants?

To which he showed the first sign of anything that resembled politeness or manners. I then said "This is my 'tip'. If you were halfway polite, you would have gotten one. Better luck with your next customer". Well, I figure I did the guy a favor. if I just dutifully handed over a tip, it would validate his attitude, then he'd continue treating other customers in the same hostile manner all day. Probably he wouldn't have gotten another tip all day. By my pointing out his attitude, perhaps he realized you can't treat people like $hit and expect a tip. So, hopefully, he returned to his work with fresh insight, was pleasant all day, and handsomely rewarded with nice tips. Did I do a good deed, or what?
Probably he continued to act pi$$ed off all day, but that was between him and his other customers!
We've has almost universally great servers since then, both there and elsewhere around WDW.
