Grumpy and his wife and possibly the DIS Food Porn Queen are going to Disney

Score on the savings for the rental car :thumbsup2

Thanks, Stefy. I love saving money. That saved money about pays for our two tickets for the Halloween party! :woohoo:

I second this!

I might have to pick your brain on how you got such a tremendous deal next time I need to rent a car. :)

I check every week or two to find lower prices. I'm not kidding, when we started out we were at $775 or $800 for a standard or full size car (we can't get a small car because Grumpy is not "dwarf" size).

Yay for a cheaper car. Itinereary changes-hmmmmm

No changes that involve our time with you and the girls. Just some park changes and dining changes. :)

Our car rental is outrageous this year. :scared1: It's never, ever been this high. I think I am going to check some of the places that you mentioned to see if we can do better. Thanks for the tip Kathy.

We are booked in a mid sized (first year for a car that small) for $312. :scared1:

Oh, I think you can do better than that. Are you a Costco member (do you have Costco by you?)? Next time I get an Alamo flyer via email, I'll forward to you. Let me know what you find.

That sunset pic is absolutely beautiful!

Thanks, Michelle. I can't wait to see it in person again.

Coming up soon...day one schedule.

Eager to hear about your itinerary changes. I had thought that the rental house we're staying in didn't have wireless and I brought my laptop to do some other work...and lo and behold... wireless internet!

With Costco and Alamo, you get a great discount right now AND a free vehicle upgrade! We got a great deal for our trip in September.

Costco contract I.D. is 7015415
Coupon code is AU2927SDK

Thank you. That is the first one I used when I was at $383; then I switched it and got 25% off and $30 off a weekly rental (we are in Florida for 12 days). That was very nice of you to give the code for the followers here.

We will probably be at Costco tomorrow so I will check out the fliers that they have at the door. Half the time I forget that they are even there.

Good; you can also do it online -- that's how I did mine.

Kathy i hear you have changed some plans for DHS!!!!:rotfl2:

Yes, I did. And I apologize. I was all set to put up the new Day 1 last night and my internet went out. :sad2: I'm workng on it now.

Okay, we will have arrived on Friday night (September 17) around 10:30 and checked in for our four night stay at our home away from home -- the CSR:

I will be up at 6 a.m. on Saturday morning (the 18th). I just DO NOT sleep while at Disney. I think the latest I've ever slept is 7:30. I iwll take a shower with the sliding doors closed while Grumpy gets some more rest after driving from Ft. Myers.

Once I am dressed and ready, I will wake Grumpy up. While Grumpy is showering and getting ready, I will walk over to the Pepper Market to get my morning cappucino. While there, I will be meeting Charlefours and deslynnpatterson also known as Stephanie and Desiree) for a cup of coffee at one of the table surrounding the lake.

Once Mark arrives and meets the girls, we will then get in the car and drive here:

We will walk over and get Fast Passes for Toy Story Mania. If the line is not too long (this is an EMH morning), we will ride it. After that, we'll stroll over to Starring Rolls for some breakfast for Grumpy (and possibly another cappucino for me). We want ato be sure to see the Beauty & The Beast Show (I missed it last year), go to the Animation Studios for the first time, do Muppets, maybe Voyage of the Litle Mermaid and The Great Movie Ride. I'm very disappointed that the Walt Disney Story is closed this trip. We'll also head back to Toy Story to use our Fast Pass. We'll go through some shops and then we will have lunch at a new place thanks to Rosie who introduced us to it and has convinced me it is very good. The Fairfax -- which has ribs which she claims are better than Flame Tree's. And since Flame Tree is closed, this will give me my rib fix on this trip.

After that, we will head back to the CSR for the first of two DIS meets with some people at Siesta's by the main pool, the Dig Site:

After our DIS meet and our afternoon swim, we'll go back to our room and take a shower and get ready to go to the MNSSHP. Mark doesn't know we are going to this...it is a surprise (I'm going to try to find two pirate type hats while we are at the Studios earlier in the day to wear to the party).

I don't have any pictures of the party to post here because we've never gone...but I'm really excited to go to this and will take lots of pictures this year.

Up next...day 2 and, could it be, another mini DIS meet?

Kathy!! I love all your day 1 ones:) I am really looking forwarded to meeting you guys! I love all of the CSR pics that you included-- i love those sliding doors!!! I am so excited for stayed at CSR I know I will love it:) It really is such a beautiful resort! I have to catch up on your PTR i am been off the boards for a little again:( I hate when that happens and i get busy and miss everything!!! So the place were we are getting coffee has good cappucino? MMM!! I might have to try that! I know how it is also not sleeping in at disney-- i never sleep in as it is! I hope my mom doesn't think i am too crazy LOL if i get up too early i will just go to the gym or take a walk or run around the resort-- and enjoy the peaceful morning!! Our trips will be here before we know it:) Are you getting excited? I am its all i think about:):cool1:

Great day one plans. I'm all about riding TSM as much as possible. I don't know what it was about that ride, but my husband and I enjoyed it SO much! And Max has now become a Toy Story freak.

Isn't it funny how much plans can change? :rotfl:

I like your new day !!I think the combo at FF is a great deal for a cs !!!!I do have to say the Lime dessert at FTB is wonderful!!!But FF offers carrot cake or chocolate cake !!

And since Flame Tree is closed, this will give me my rib fix on this trip.

Oh man. You had me scared there for a minute. I hadn't heard about the rehab. For a half second I thought you meant CLOSED closed. Like, forever. I don't know how I would break that news to DH. Luckily, it will be back open before we get there. Whew!

I have a friend whose mantra has always been, "No sleeping at Disney"! I agree and cannot ever "sleep in". Always up bright and early and ready to begin a Disney Day. Gee, sure wish I was looking forward to one of those....but maybe when the surgery is history, then a trip will be back in the works. :thumbsup2

LOVE your first day, Kathy! :yay:

Yay for saving more money on your car rental! I was just checking out prices for my trip, and Alamo, what I normally use, is almost $300 for a compact car right now! :scared1: I really don't want to spend over $200 for a car. Enterprise is much cheaper, but Enterprise makes me nervous, since I don't know how they work. So I hope Alamo goes down. :confused3

Love the new first day plans! I can't really sleep late at Disney either, I'm always ready to go! :cool1:

We are looking forward to meeting you too. I am so excited that I can't stand it. I've redone my packing list three times in the last day and a half. :rotfl:

I LOVE TSM (much better than Buzz). Max is going to absolutely go crazy for it. You've done a little changing yourself. ;)

Did you say chocolate cake? I'm all over that. We were going to go to Beaches & Cream because we've never been there, but this will give us more time for this short trip.

I didn't mean to frighten you. :scared1: Sorry. I'm glad it will be open by the time you get there.

Obviously you don't sleep well at Disney because you're "too excited to sleep!" :)

You are exactly right!

LOVE your first day, Kathy! :yay:

I just can't do it. And I don't know others do. I'm at Disney and half to be up at the crack of dawn...even if it means taking a nap at midday.

I'm sure the surgery is going to go great and you'll be back to planning a trip.

Try Costco or if you have an American Expres they have discounts too. We've rented from Enterprise a lot here by the house (my youngest son has my car because his was totaled and there were times Mark had to work late and I had to have a car). However, the last two times we used Avis because they were over $80 cheaper. For some reason, every time I looked at Enterprise, they were higher than everyone else (and we have a coupon for a free upgrade in car class...but it wasn't worth it).

Well, helllllloooooo. :teeth:

Hi, Tracy. Nice to see you.

That is GREAT news about the car rental! :thumbsup2 And your Day One plans are looking so relaxing and nice...and full of DIS meets! I wish I would automatically wake up at Disney, it sure would make getting to rope drop easier.

Thanks, Brooke. I have never been able to sleep at Disney. And that is why we always go to an early breakfast (I don't eat breakfast at home, but I do on vacation) or we make rope drop.

Revised Day #2 coming up.
