Grumpy and his wife and possibly the DIS Food Porn Queen are going to Disney

Well, dang, that was bum luck about the bears and bisons!! Bummer!

I like giraffes too, but love the monkeys more- they actually Do something.

So glad to see that your own teddy bear was out walking and getting some needed exercise pre- AND post op!

Great zoo pictures :thumbsup2. It looks like ya'll had a good time. The new shirt is cute and I LOVE the bag. You have a great boss :thumbsup2.

Kathy,
Meant to post last week after my vacation (I was thinking of you guys) – and I haven’t finished reading everything -- (I’ve skimmed a little) but wanted to let you know how happy I was to read that everything went well with Mark’s surgery and that you get to keep the Disney portion of your trip (Andy is terrific!). While another surgery is not what you wanted, so glad that the docs have caught it in time to correct the problem. Just think, the procedure will be over soon and you will be able to enjoy Marco and Disney.:goodvibes

Kat – Love the pic of Mark at home recovering – he looks in great spirits! But how come a Mark pic with no Disney hat? :rotfl:

SO glad you are feeling better and that it wasn’t pneumonia.

Will definitely be on the DIS more and will stay in touch:)
Janet

Love the mickey bag!

Okay, just saw in your Zoo outing a Mark "Hat" picture - all is definitely well! :goodvibes

I'll come back and respond to everyone later. Just wanted to report that we booked our rental car. We got it for $380 for a standard with an upgrade to a full size for the 12 days we are there (we originally started at around $800). I didn't have to put a credit card or anything (it's Alamo which we've used in the past and we don't give them credit card until we get there); this way I can keep checking back for a cheaper price yet. But $400 off what they were originally going for suits me just fine. :)

Oh, Liesa. My husband would absolutely LOVE YOU!!!! "My own teddy bear." :rotfl: I think I'll keep that one to myself.

Great zoo pictures :thumbsup2. It looks like ya'll had a good time. The new shirt is cute and I LOVE the bag. You have a great boss :thumbsup2.

Thanks, Dana. Yes, I do have a great boss.

Hi, Janet! How was your trip? We've missed you. Mark is doing great...I'm impressed how well he is doing. And I told him yesterday it was the LAST day of my babying him. He's even lost some weight! :)

I just wish I could shake this darn cough--it is just so annoying.

And, of course, there was a hat. I took that picture of him recovering his first day and totally zoned out on the hat--but the Eeyore ears are already in the suitcase. ;)

OMG -

I LOVE your bag. That is simply the cutest bag I have ever seen! So perfect. I am not a big bag person (probably the only person on the boards who isn't), but I would kill for that bag.

I love your zoo pictures. The camels are the coolest.

Oh - your T shirt is pretty cute, too.:thumbsup2

Just now got caught up. Love love love the purse! Isn't it great when your boss tells you to get something for yourself. You know that you'll just love what you've bought.:thumbsup2

It was good to see both of you feeling well enough to visit the zoo. You are lucky to have a good clean zoo nearby. Our zoo is so run down and you have to pass through a bad part of town to get to it. So sad!

Hey Kathy, so glad to hear that you are feeling better and that Mark is doing well after his surgery!

Sounds like you had a great outing at the zoo, I love the pics of Mark with the silly hats on with the neck brace too

LOVE your new D&B bag!!!

Nope, you are definitely NOT the only one who is not a big bag person. Count me in. ;)

The Brookfield Zoo pics by the aquatic animals brought back some childhood memories when we would go there every year. I thought it was very cool that it was BROOKfield Zoo... But then again we lived in BolingBROOK.

A $400 savings! That is awesome!!!

Long time lurker finally making a comment! Your wonderful work on this thread is what convinced DH and I to spend our 30th anniversary(and first "alone" trip) at CSR! We had a wonderful time enjoying free dining and the Food and Wine Festival last September.
I hope that someday my DDs(28 and 24) can meet some men that are as wonderful as your sons seem to be. One question on a shirt that your son was wearing on his trip with the wrestlers: (it was based on the Superman shirt) was that a "G" on it? My DS would love that since his name is George! Any idea where I could get one?
I have three different trips planned before the end of the year since my son is going to be doing the College Program. We are taking him down to check in on Aug. 9 but not doing any parks(yeah, right); DDs and I are going for FD beginning of Oct. and the whole family will be making a Christmas trip in mid-December so I will definitely be looking for a new bag as cool as yours! So glad that you guys are on the mend--keep up the good work!

Kathy, I saw that same purse on a trip report the other night and I want one too!

That is a bummer about Mark's procedure being so close to your trip but it will all work out because I say it has to!

I am sorry you still have the cough, I hope that gets better soon.

Sorry I've been off for a few days, I was camping (don't ask;)).

You like saving $400? Huh...go figure ;)

Great job on that!

Just a tad...because that is a little more money I can do something else with. Perhaps another bag? ;)

I'm not typically a bag person myself. Just something that "works" and "holds" all my crap. But I do love the Disney ones. Glad you enjoyed the zoo pictures.

Oh, I forgot.....congrats on knocking $400 off your rental car total.

Lisa, good to see you. The bosses wife starting asking me about 15 years ago what I wanted rather than try to pick out for me. One year I got a Mickey Mouse winter jacket, scarf, hat and mittens. One year it was a bunch of candleholders I wanted from Partylite. They are the best.

Love knocking off that $400. :)

I've missed you, Michelle. We are both feeling much better (today is the first day I didn't wake up hacking for three hours to start my day). Mark is Mark...nothing phases him and he'll wear a hat butt naked if I let him (that's not happening though...so don't worry).

Hi, Brooke. I didn't know you used to live out here. We've been to Bolingbrook a number of times when the kids were younger with football, baseball and wrestling.

Pretty sweet on my savings, huh! ;)

Welcome; thank you for joining my PTR. Wow, 30 years! Good for you. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip. The shirts were custom made for the boys and the coaches...I don't remember exactly what they say. The "G" represents "Gomez" which is the name of the wrestling club.

I got mine on the Disney shopping website...but I'm going to look at the outlet to see if they have them there too (there are so many to choose from).

The cough is MUCH better today. Camping?!?! Your favorite thing in the whole wide world to do. Did you at least have good weather for it?;)

I am in one of those "I don't want to work" moods, so I was going through some old CSR photos. This is one of my favorites. This is Juliana, MY CSR Princess (although she is laying on MY hammock):

It was broiling hot with no tree shade! We have a pine beetle infestation in Colorado so many of our pine trees are dead:sad2:. Matthew got sick in the middle of the night right outside our tent so those two things alone should paint a pretty picture of my weekend! Had a great time with our friends though and the drive up was lovely.

I seriously enjoy camping, I just need a camper. I am getting too darn old to tent camp. :rotfl:

Love this pic!!!! :thumbsup2

And I had to have fun too:

Back to some of the animals now. This fox was a real cutie:

2 weeks before the trip is the time to start bidding on priceline!!!!!!! I've always gotten Alamo and if you can get a full for $16-$18 for the twelve days you should be around $250-$300 with the taxes.

I look like a red-eyed fox? :scared1:

I will be sure to make a mental note to start biddin on priceline at that time. I would love to cut the price even more.

And Juliana did a great job of keeping my hammock warm.

Anytime...you have a beautiful family and everyone should know Juliana.

Hi, April. I've got to get over to your report too. I promise to get to it tonight or tomorrow. We are both feeling great. I think I am back to about 90% now. Glad you like my bag. :)
