(((Hugs))) Tigger. I saw this when I briefly logged in last night. I don't know all their reasonings on a lot of things. Especially when they make people change their names after they've had them for a while.

If you don't like the name, then don't approve it!

Tigger I have to agree with thouse that said it has to do with Disney characters I think something was said in a newsletter or something awhile back about them not allowing names that had to do with disney. That's why Disney-ite had to change and why Jegrezo can't get Disney Dreams approved. They are slowly making the rounds and making anyone with those titles change them, sadly.Hugs!

Wow they just make no sense. They don't allow Tiggerholic but yet when you added to the same name they accepted it? I just hope they don't pull this on you again and make you change it again. I'm glad you have basically your old name back though. Sending your way in hopes they don't make you change again. It would sure be nice though if they could explain to you why they did what they did because it sure doesn't make sense.

One of my friends had to have his name changed, and he saw VMK_Mocha in the game(he was still awaiting approval of his new name), and asked her why he had to change his name. She looked up in her records(I guess they keep track of name changes, etc.), and told him why. I'm sure if you find a VMK Staff that aren't busy, they'll explain to you, and hopefully get your name back.

I feel so sorry for all of you. How painful that is. It is your identity. And for people who have had it since day one that is going to be sad. Since I am littlebelle It may be only time till mine goes to. But since they have not made a disney movie about a little belle only full grown belle I might be ok. But who knows.

I just feel so bad for you all. I really understand how important your names are.

I'm so sorry to hear about that, Tigger. I thought your name was quite cute and enjoyed seeing it. But here's why I think it wasn't allowed:

After talking with HOST_Lily in the past about player name changes, she told me that all names with "Disney" in them weren't allowed anymore. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they're not allowing disney character names in player names.

I think the old player name screen (The blue one that we had before it went green) had a reference that said: "Do not pick a name that has a TV/Movie character i.e. Spongebob Squarepants, Scooby-Doo, etc."
Or something like that.

I know a lot of players have "tink" or "tinkerbell" in their names, and if those players have to change their names, then I guess my suspicions would be right.

I don't think it has anything to do with the "holic"...I am a fan of all things Pooh and I have seen some of my VMK friends with names like Eeyorehehe have to change and names like heheEeyore were accepted. I think they don't like names that have a character name first and then something appended to the end.

If they want a policy to not allow Disney characters in VMK player names then that should be clearly stated on the page where we create the character names. In addition to that they need to stop approving the names with them if they want it to stop. So many of these changes are being made months and years after the person first makes their title and it is truly losing their identity in the game. If it is regarding where it is placed in the name time will only tell on that one. I had a character who lost their title with Stitch at the beginning, but not the one with Eeyore at the end and recently had another approved with Stitch at the end.

As far as the addictions not all are bad. I can safely say that most of us on here could be considered Disneyholics Either way Tigger I am glad you got your old title back even if it had to be slightly modified.

I latched onto Tigger at a very early age, because he was always bouncing through life without a care in the world. So, for VMK to strip me of my name, feels like part of "me" has been taken away I know it all may sound silly to most people, but I am up to 58 surgeries, more to go, and have only made it through everything because of the outlook Tigger and I share, sorry.

I think I am going to take a few days off, try and regain the "fun" of playing VMK

Oh Tigger . I got the message when I signed in again tonight and I could not believe it! Now reading your last post I am almost in tears. I know how it is to identify with a particular character, of course not nearly as much as you have. I hope you and VMK can come to some agreement somehow about a title. Maybe try putting tigger at the end of the name or in the middle I know it won't be quite the same as your old one but remember even if you don't get the Tigger for some reason you will always be Tigger to us


ETA I am tired of hearing of people having to change their VMK names (not against those who post about it but against VMK for making it such a common occurance) so I have just now written a rather lengthy message to the contact us link explaining how much it upsets people to have their names changed and asking for an explaination to be emailed and if there are rules of what cannot be included in VMK names to please put that in the next newsletter. I would recommend that others do this as well so that maybe we can have a time maybe at some point that this will no longer happen.

My guess is that some lawyer somewhere got a burr under his/her saddle about these names. I agree with the letter writing campaign. BTW, the same problem exists now on the main Disney XD accounts. I got so mad one day, I entered "Dumb_Rule" as a name!

Anyway, William Shakespeare had it right: Kill all the lawyers!

DIS members who are lawyers are, of course, exempt from this!

What do you call 10,000 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean?

So very sorry! Apparently it can take multiple tries before coming up with a replacement title that VMK will leave alone.

You've probably already chosen a new title, but if you have further problems, you might want to consider something that has a variation of Tigger in it, such as "Tigg", "Tiggs" or "Tigs". (TiggsFan?)

Ah hugs I totally understand. We all choose a character that fits us. And I can see that being a downer facing more surgery. When I started having walking problems and needed to use a walker and a scooter. I named the scooter my belle mobile. (Yes it is decorated in all Disney stickers I hate thinking about maybe loosing my total ability to walk how we look at things really does make a difference. Thus you need to be tigger in some way. He motivates you. Just like Belle's character does for me.

I just can not image losing VMK littlebelle. For in VMK we are equal. We have no sickness, or fear and can leave this reality for some fun. These characters are apart of ourself. We loving created them. And dressed them and taught them the fine points of gaming, learning a new language called VMK, we make friends with these characters, shared sorrow and joy. It is much more than a title to many of us.

We are inspired by CL_Slinkymans struggle with cancer. We know who he is; we respect him. And if he had his title taken away how hurt would he be. For it was Slinkyman that he played during his treatments. It is Slinkyman we all know. I hope that if you wrote them they would be kind enough to let you know if any part of Tigger is allowed. Maybe if they look at it this way they might find a way to allow some part of tigger.

And so sorry you have to have so many surgeries. And I do understand that so often we take the ability to get up and walk for granted. Something I know you do not and neither do I.

I sent a message to Dear Yeti asking why players are asked to change their titles, why a new title can be approved and revoked in the same day, and if there are certain titles that are not permitted.
