So my hubby returned from one year in Korea (He's in the Army) in Feb. He started in Ft Hood, TX this week. I am home in NY finishing packing & getting ready to drive cross country next week & join him. He gets assigned to his new unit & finds out that he is deploying to Iraq late summer for a year. :(:(:( One thing to look forward to is our wedding in May. I am so stressed between moving, packing, getting settled in a whole new place (NY to Tx is very DIFF), normal wedding stress & now on top of it my new husband will be sent over there. Sorry had to vent...I knew you guys would listen!

Katie I am so sorry to hear of this news. Believe it or not I know how you feel. Once a long time ago I was engaged to a Navy man I barely saw more than 3 months out of the year. (Of course we are no longer together)

I know that this must be so difficult for you but you do have your wedding to look forward to. Hang in there sweetie! Just remember, you've done this before and you can do it again, you're strong. :grouphug:

Katie,

When in May are you guys getting married? I have almost all of my stuff done for my May wedding thanks to help from friends. I am in Dallas and not that far away. Let me know what I can do to help!

Thank you both!

Jonette I will let you know when I get there!

Katie - I just wanted to send you lots of hugs and pixie dust. Hang in there! And good luck with the move.

That stinks my good friend is married to a naval officer and they spent their first year in Japan, well she was in Japan he was on a ship, much like Sajetto said. I do not know how the millitary wives do it all- I have great respect!

Katie:

I am so sorry to hear that u will be away from ur husband. Hang in there. You have ur wedding to plan and wonderful things to look forward to. I wish you all the best!!!

I'm so sorry that you only get a short time between Korea and Iraq. On the bright side, at least he wasn't deployed prior to your wedding. I know that is not much of a help, I know I would hate it if my fiance was in the army and deployed, but try to stay positive.

Hugs to you Katie! Trust me when I say that I know exactly how you feel. My DH has been deployed for about 3.5 years of our 11 year marriage (all since 1997) and he is not even active duty.

On a good note, his cousin used to be stationed at Ft. Hood (and I was just there in August when DH flew in to train replacement troops) and it seems to be a very friendly base!

Best Wishes!!

I know how stressful a big move alone can be, but I can't imagine what you're going through with him being deployed to Iraq. Hang in there, let us know how everything goes, and if we can give you any support!

Just sending you smiles n' pixie dust to help you get through everything. I'm very sorry that he has to be deployed so soon, I can imagine how tough that must be on you both!! Hang in there! :flower:

:goodvibes You guys ROCK! Thanks so much everybody

Hang in there- we are all here for you. I love this board as we are all able to talk about everything. I hope things go well.

We all know how stressful this has been for you. Please know that we will all be here for you if you need us. Sending som pixie dust your way that everything turns out great for the move, and the wedding...

Katie,
I also want to send you lots of hugs and pixie dust. I know how you feel. My DF is going to Alabama in April and he will be there almost a year. There are also rumors going around his unit that they will be going to the middle east sometime next summer as well. If you ever need to talk feel free to PM me.

Megan
