you know, the really nice quilted jean jackets with Buzz embroidered on that back?

We got that for ds for Christmas this year and I found out yesterday that he *LOST* it!!

I am SO angry with him!!!

I went to school today and searched everywhere for it, asked everyone in the office, his teacher everyone I could think of. NO one had seen it. I have called everwhere we have been in the last week ( I saw him with it Thursday it was nice after that so I didnt think about it)

Im just so frustrated!! He doesnt take care of his stuff!!

I know I know typical 8 year old but still!!!

Did he have his name on it? Perhaps it's just laying around somewhere. Does he remember where he had it last? (I'm sure you've asked him that question already ~ sorry!)

My DS is 7 & I do expect him to take care of his things. He once lost a pair of gloves at school & although he had another pair, I told him to keep his hands in his pockets till he found the pair he lost. The next day, he brought them home from school. He just forgot them there. (It was not sub zero weather, but I wanted to make my point.)

Luckily they have lockers at school but if he's out playing & he leaves his coat at the neighbors (weather warms up), I make him go back & get it immediately. Of course, this doesn't mean he'll never lose a jacket.....

Good luck, I hope you find it! I get really upset when Disney stuff disappears!

Did you check Lost and Found at school? I know at DS's school, stuff just automatically gets thrown in there, name or not.

I got my girls some really nice faux fur jackets from Gap and my 8yo has lost her's . I didn't pay much because they were on clearance but it is still irritating.

Sure hope he finds it soon. Children have a way of aggravating us sometimes. Don't they?

binny I feel your anger from here because I have felt the same way. My ds is 7 and the forgetfulness and I don't know's can drive a Mom insane!!!!!!!!!

Pixie dust that the coat magically reappears just like Buzz & Woody do in the movies!

I went today and searched everywhere I could think of, I went in to talk to his teacher to let her knwo what happened she said she would keep an eye for it. This afternoon he came with it ( have I said how much I love his teacher??) She gave it some thought and made him look all over the school he finally ofund it in his Challenge room ( the pull out class he goes to on Wednesdays)

Anyway, thanks for commiseration ladies :)

Glad he has it back! And yes, typical 8-year-old. Want my typical 9-year-old? ;)

DD wasn't so lucky. She had a Minnie Mouse cover-up from Blizzard Beach. We were at the Y and she left it on the changing bench when we left for the car. By the time we got back less than 10 minutes later, it was long gone. No surprise, it was never turned into lost and found. She's been much better about taking care of her stuff in locker rooms, but I wish she hadn't had to learn the lesson in such a hard way.

Hooray for DS and DS's teacher! Glad you found the coat!:bounce: See Buzz does come back when he's ready. ;)

Glad you found it!!!:bounce: :bounce:

Now, can you help us find our daughter's retainer??? She just got her braces off last week, and only had the retainer 2 days!!! She took it out at lunch, wrapped it in a napkin, and it must have gone into the trash . . .

It's another $125 for a replacement :( :( :(

I hated the way one the Ele. school DS went to handled lost and found. They had a set day every month (or every other month) that everything would go to good will if not claimed. Well it didn't matter if the item had been there a month or an hour it was gone. A good friend had jsut bought her DS a jacket for X mas (but gave it to him a a couple of weeks early because he needed it) and the second day he wore it was the last day of school before Xmas break. Well he was picked up by his dad and spent the weekend with him, so she didn't even know the jacket was left at school until that Sunday night. The school was closed of course until after the break. By the tiem school opened again it was too late. Oh boy was she upset to find out it went to Good Will.
