So we leave very soon and now the disneyland site park hours shows that Fantasyland will be closed off and on Nov. 6 & 7!

I know they are filming a movie in Carnation Cafe and it will be closed - the website says the morning of Nov. 6th but when they called me and cancelled our breakfast there we were told closed mornings of Nov. 6-8. I'm sure FL is closing also for the film. The way film shoots go, who knows how long they will close things for?

Okay, I can deal without bkfst. at Carnation Cafe but closing down Fantasyland for parts of two days including our early entry day?!!

NOT a happy camper.

***Is there a number I can call to find out if we can still get EMH at DL (staying onsite) that Tuesday? I wonder if FL will be open for EMH or not? Or if they'll open for EMH but FL not be open, just other rides? If I had some info. it would help us plan around this last minute wrench they threw at us.

What a bummer! I have no answers for you, but just wanted to wish you a happy trip. :goodvibes I had just been thinking "Don't they leave for the trip soon?"

Have a fabulous time! We'll have to get together when you're back.

Hey girl, Thanks! You're easier to get on this site than by phone! LOL!

Do you want us to pick up anything for you guys besides maybe some park maps?

That is a bummer. On the other hand, how special to be there during filming! There will always be times for Fantasyland but to be there during this kind of filming is a once in a lifetime few people will have the opportunity for.

And just think, when you see Carnation Cafe in the move, you can say you were kicked out for it! I'm jealous. :thumbsup2

Hmmm....when do you leave? A calendar would be rather fabulous...

Oh...and... Nuh uh! ;)

I called and it sounds like EE Tuesday, Fantasyland WILL be closed. So I guess we'll change our EE to Thursday and do Car's Land Tuesday first. Ppppft! I love how they waited till 3 days before to put it up!!

Unfortunately we aren't really the people who care much about that. Also, they pretty well close things off so you can't see what's going on. With only 4 days for our trip, it's a hindrance to us. :(

Who did you call? We will probably do what you are doing if that's the case.

Very lame of DLR. How do they not know this in advance?

I think they must have known. They knew far in advance that they were using Carnation Cafe for the filming. We were called by them over a month ago to cancel our reservations. I'm sure they knew about FL too but probably don't want some people to stay away.

Today for the airport. Fly out tomorrow.

Desk or wall? What theme? I don't want to repeat something you can get at Target! ;)

A park themed calendar maybe? Any other ideas? I've only seen character ones at K-Mart and Target, etc.

We WERE going to do this schedule:

Monday - DCA/EMH - stay in park all day

Tuesday - DL/EMH - (FL but that's out the window now) then hop to DCA in afternoon

Wednesday - DCA/EMH - then hop to DL in afternoon

Thursday - DL/EMH - stay in park all day

If we still go into DL Tuesday AM without EMH available for anyone I wonder if we will run into crowds or longer lines for other rides if FL is closed. We want our DL time also, not stay in DCA the whole trip. Not sure how to re-schedule?

Anyone have suggestions?

We aren't staying on onsite, but we'll be doing it like this:

Monday-DL, possibly hop to DCA later, but probably not since it's hotter there and it's going to be HOT that day.

Tuesday-DCA- hopefully get RSR twice...

Wednesday-We're going to Knotts

Thursday- DL EE, possibly hop to DCA later...

Friday- whatever we didn't get to do earlier in the week.

That was my initial thought, too. I like Disney stuff, but sometimes what looks like corporate greed really turns me off.

I am willing to bet that Thursday's EMH/MM will be busier than normal. I will be shifting my MM to Saturday.

I guess we will just have to stay with the basics of our schedule since we are trying to use as many EMH days as we can manage and still get equal time in both parks. We will just have to avoid those mornings in DL - what's the point when FL is closed and all the rides in the park will be crowded?

DO you think they might open up a different "land"for EMH to compensate?

Our only choices for DL EMH were Tues. and Thurs. since we leave Fri. So we will have to do Thurs. now that they took Tues. away from us.

That's what I wondered but I kind of doubt it. FL is so ride heavy that I doubt any other land could compensate unless they opened the major rides in several lands. I am going to try to find out the details when we check in on Sunday night - if they will make any kind of alternative offering for guests.

Thing is it's a relatively slower time of year and I'm sure that's why they scheduled the filming for these dates.

At least they announced anything at all , even if it was only a few days in advance. Remember when Oprah shut down all of Fantasyland for a day? There was no forewarning about that. Or the Christmas filmings that disrupt Main Street? Technically, there has been no formal warning about those, simply internet chatter.

So while it wasn't much, at least it was something.

Yah, that's a bummer.
