The first week of June JC Penney had a sale on their Docker clothing, and an offer (thru Docker) for a free 7" portable DVD player with the purchase of $100 worth of Docker clothing. DW and I carefully read the small print, and made our purchase; the sales rep smiled at us when checking out and said, "Congratulations! You qualiy for a DVD player!"; DW, who is anal retentive about such things, fills out the paperwork and sends it off the next day...
WELL, today we get and email saying we did not make a qualifying purchase and would not be receiving a DVD player! What the...?!!
To make matters worse, we cannot reply to the email notification
. So, I'm just letting you guys know, tomorrow some lucky person at JC Penney is probably going to be the recipient of a good old-fashioned chewing out. I haven't done such a thing in a long time, but I feel a good stem-winder coming on tomorrow.
The only reason I bought the stupid Dockers was for the DVD player!

I will try to lay this out in a detailed fashion
. I would not normally buy Docker clothes because I find them to be a bit overpriced. I am a Wal-Mart kind of guy (boy, I'm really confessing now). However with the offer of clothes AND a free DVD player that is about the same value of the clothes, it seemd like a good deal to me. Thus I purchased the items with the idea that I would receive some quality clothing AND a portable DVD player for $100. Without the clothes OR the DVD player the transaction would be somehow incomplete. I did not purchase the clothes OR the DVD player. I purchased both. I really hope this explains why this is something worth pursuing. You may be young and/or inexperienced in this sort of thing, and I truly do not wish to be condescending if that's the case.
