Grrr-- Mickey's House Closed for Refurb

So, we skipped Mickey's house last time because by the time we dawdled doing everything during TTMM there was a long line to go meet Mickey...

So I decided that this time for TTMM, we'd go straight to Mickey's House... but the calendar was just updated to show it closed for refurb pretty much the whole time we are there and the day I planned on going (next Wed!)



So, do you think they will move Mickey and Minnie over to Minnie's house??

Maybe they're taking the next big step while trying to modernize their relationship and are going to move in together.

Minnie's house is pretty small for an autograph line, but I've seen Minnie with a line *outside* her house. I think I've seen Mickey in more places outside, than inside his house, honestly.

Noticed that Minnie's house is closed today, then there's a few days, then Mickey's, then there's a few days with nothing in TT closed, then while we're there, Donald's boat is closed! Ah, memories...site of a massive "I'm hungry but don't know how to tell you" meltdown from my son....causing us to get an "emergency pizza" from one of the TT places...memories....


Editing to add after checking out calendar...what are they doing to Donald's? May 19 through June 20 it's closed! Zoiks!

Geez... I didn't look further on the calendar... they overhauling TT?? Seems like they got a late start with summer just around the corner... I guess I can live without Mickey's house... thankfully practically everything else is open...

Lisa, Minnie's is MUCH more fun and interactive. There's nothing really fun to do in Mickey's, not that I have been able to tell. But with Minnie's you can explore, especially the kitchen! It'll be fine, I'm sure.

I would be upset just because on our trip in october that was one of the only places we were able to see mickey and the only place we could get a picture with him!!! I was really upset with the limited charecter sightings while we were there!!!!

I was really hoping for his house to be open, because every other time we saw Mickey in the park, the line was much longer to see him... We should have just stood in line during TTMM--but I thought 20 people in front of us was too many to wait for!

Last time I was there Mickey was around the Hub. He and Mini were together, there was a line but it was pretty short. We also saw him many times just around the park. Maybe you'll have luck that way too?

Looks like Donald's boat will be down when we go. It's okay, sadly my son says he's too old for the toontown houses. As long as Roger Rabbit is up over there, he's happy.

We've caught Mickey several times in the morning around the Hub, and one time by IASW. That was one of the best pictures we've gotten with him!

I go to disneyland.com and go to the calendars section. It shows what's down for your stay, but it can change often! (like this Donald's boat thing, harumph)

We just got back and Minnie's house was closed. They said she was be on the streets of toontown during MTTM and then they said she could be found on Main Street.
I assume they will do the same with Mickey maybe even setup a temp area with a roped line. The funny part was the CM said they would not be closing Mickey's house, and now I come back and read this.

Hmmm....we just saw Mickey at his house on Wednesday night (May 7)...did the calendar say it was going to be closed then? Maybe it's off...Minnie's House WAS closed however. I feel very lucky that we got to see him there, it's so nice and private and they seem to take more time with you when you do it at his house than out on the street somewhere. Sorry to those of you who won't get to do it, that would be a bummer. But, as other posters said, at least you CAN find Mickey elsewhere, versus a ride being shut down and having no alternatives...
