I've not been a McAfee customer for two years. Today when I logged into online checking (I balance and review my bank account daily), I had a charge from them for almost $100!

I called them, and they said they were just doing continuous service. Really? When my account ended with them in 2010?

Contacted my bank. Canceled my card (debit card, so it was a hit to my checking account).

I don't know how they updated the expiration date on the card, because I just got a new one in November, but they did. I also opened new checking accounts to close out the other one. There are too many people out there with the account numbers, etc., and I think I want to stick with the bank's online bill pay. That way I'm not handing out numbers to random people. FWIW, Bank of America has done the same thing before to me with an automatic debit they had going on years ago.

What else should I do? File a BBB complaint? What they did was fraud--they just up and decide 2 years later that they are going to give me antivirus protection. I never signed up for continuous protection, but did make the original purchase online. That ended in June of 2010, and I haven't had a charge since the original purchase in 2009. I wonder how many people they do this to and they never notice it or decide that they need the protection. Thing is, I canceled with them in the first place because they missed two viruses. I went with Bitdefender and have had no complaints.
