This is THE ONE ride my DS has been SO EXCITED about and talks about constantly..including in his sleep.

but ooooooh no. It's the ONE that will be closed when we go. They SAY it'll be open the first day we get there, I hope that's true. Or I'll cry.

Emmers, are you excited about your trip?:cool1: I remember when you first got the news about your inlaws wanting to do this for you, and when you first began your planning! Now that you are just days away from the trip, DLR in all its wondrous, magical, glorious holiday splendor, has it sunk in yet or have you suffered from the pre-trip blahs which some of us get? I am so excited for you and your kids - I think it is going to be SO wonderful for you all. I can't wait to hear all the details about it!:goodvibes

Hey you must be going the same time I am. It's supposed to to close on Mon. Dec 1st. I think they will definitely keep it open the weekend after Thanksgiving because there should still be plenty of people around. So maybe you could make that a dedicated BTMRR fastpass collection day. Here's to hoping it stays open. :goodvibes

I was really bummed about that too. Thankfully, it will be open the first day we are there.

Ah......do not worry :flower3:. It will be open for your trip. Maybe even before hand. I have been wanting to say too, that your children sure are cute! Your little girl, has such a little sour puss look on her face, I love it! It is just so darn cute. Kind of looks like she ate some lemons. ;) he he! :)

Sherry- I can't believe it's here! It's so crazy close! I'm now to the freaking out about 'what am i gonna forget' part haha. I do actually have the 'blahs', so weird! I'm so glad I found this board!

Blue Donkey- Yeah I think that's the plan. We'll ride it like 4 times that day haha. I did already tell DS that there is a small chance that it may be closed. He was brave and only sniffled once and said "okay mommy" *Sob*

Thanks evilprncess! Your name doesn't really suit you ;)

Josie-See you and Blue Donkey there! ;)

Thanks Gisele! Yeah she was being so silly! She wasn't even in a bad mood, but she was pulling some silly faces..that's so her!

It's going to be closed when we get there too!! And we're arriving on the 1st... BOO!!!!

oh noooooo that's RIGHT on bad timing, isn't it!

*sniffle* Why can't they close something my 4 year old DOESN'T care about.

I really am grateful it'll be open One day tho. ONE. I will ride it 10 times if he wants to.

Sorry that it timed out like that but take solace in knowing when they shut down an "E ticket" type attraction they make it a point that the rest of the really good rides are up and running, usually.

No big really, just ride the heck out of it the first day and get your fill. You can focus on it and ride it tons of times, especially if you are there midweek. If the lines are short try sitting in the middle area where nobody walks up to ride often (if it's low capacity) and they will let you stay on repeatedly until someone wants the seat.

We do this all of the time and just a couple weeks ago we were able to ride it four times consecutively. My personal record for DLR DL BTMRR is around 10 times without getting off. My all-time record is 16 consecutive times at WDW MK BTMRR on Christmas Eve 2004, me and my sister were able to ride it over and over, switching seats each time as nobody was there except for maybe two or three sets of two per trip. It was a "perfect storm" of Disney ride repetition! We rode it so many times (for about an hour) to the point we wanted off. The CMs were actually disappointed as they were egging us on each time to keep going once we got to about 10 trips. It was amazing! One of my favorite park-related, ride-related stories.

Oh and uh, I just rode BTMRR tonight, this evening as I stopped in to DLR on my way home today and the place was not crowded and most of the holiday lights are up.

Have a great trip!

What a little trooper!

Josie-See you and Blue Donkey there! ;)

Yup! I'm really going to try to buy a LG Mickey keychain as soon as I get there to where around on my Pooh Bag that I carry. Or, if you see a gal carrying a beige tote bag with a brown pooh face outline on it, you'll know it's me. :)

Doombugger, that's fantastic! Our only day with it open will be a Sunday, but if that means waiting in line for a long time, it'll happen! I just pray that one day it IS gonna be open like it says. I assume since it's the end of a weekend (thanksgiving) it WILL be tho.

Blue Donkey
I dunno if i"ll end up having a LGMH, but you've seen my kids..two pasty blondies. And you can sorta see what I look like in my avatar. LOL

My daughter and I are really annoyed it will be closed when we are there. She has only been to Disneyland once when she was 6 and now she is 20 and finally going again.
Big Thunder is one of the very few things she actually remembers about Disneyland ( as in a real memory and not hmm I THINK I remember that lol)
